Case the catalogue - He's All That!

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog is all about CASE'ing the cards that the Stampin' Up® creative team  make to demonstrate the stamps & dies & other products that are featured in the catalogues. I hope you like what I've made!

There are so many beautiful cards featured in each Stampin' Up® catalogue that occasionally I decide to CASE some of them. This week I will show you 3 cards inspired by the current Annual Catalogue. I will show you the catalogue card & my version.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating these cards this week. When the new catalogue launched in May I had to have the He's The Man suite collection as it had Stamp Set, Dies, DSP (including 2 sheets of diecuts) & metallic dots. Using this suite plus some some co-ordinating cardstock & dimensionals I was able to quickly & easily create 3 cards based on cards featured in the catalogue.

Here's the first card I CASE'd along with the original version.

There's not a lot of difference in the cards. I chose to use an Early Espresso base so that a little bit of it peeped through behind the DSP. The No.1 was stamped the same as the sample but I die cut it using the smallest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.

Now here's the second card I CASE'd along with the original sample.

The card in the catalogue is a square card but I chose to make mine landscape. This is a more popular shape plus it allowed me to spread out the decorations a little more.

And so, finally there is the last card I CASE'd.

Barely any difference apart from the placement of the stars & positioning of the combi van.

These cards were so easy to make as there was virtually no stamping - I stamped No.1 & 'To the Man who does Everything' & most of the images & sentiments were precut. The colours are quite a different mixture with soft Mint Macaron, warm So Saffron (I used Bumblebee) & Cajun Craze then the earthy tones of Early Espresso, Sahara Sand & Crumbcake. I'm looking forward to making lots more with this suite.

The All That dies are quite handy as they have a number of shapes that can be used as mattes for sentiments, like cards 2 & 3, plus there are banner pieces & the really cute trellis shape on card number 1. Here's a pic of the dies...
I think this is going to be one of my 'go to' dies as the shapes will be perfect for sentiments or mattes!

So that's it for another week. I had so much fun creating these cards this week & I hope you enjoyed checking out my creations. Thanks for popping in.
My next Mid Week blog on Wednesday shows you how to create a faux twisted ribbon design using strips of DSP. Next week's regular blog will feature mini embossing folders & how to get the most out of them. I hope you can join me for both of these blogs.
