Home with the honeybees

Hello & welcome to my blog, My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog features the beauty of nature using the Honeybee Home stamp set, Honeybee Blooms dies & Hive embossing folder. I hope you like them! My first creation was inspired by a Pinterest post by Janneke at Happy Stampin'.   I started with a Basic White card base as well as a white matte. I inked directly onto the Hive embossing folder use Bumblebee ink then pressed the matte over to transfer the ink. This gave the honeycomb effect. The flowers were stamped in Memento black and coloured with Pale Papaya, So Saffron & Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. I die cut them using the Honeybee Blooms dies & adhered them directly to the matte with just a small amount of dimensionals at the top to give a li

Mid Week blog #33 - Card Sketch #4

Hello & welcome to my Mid Week blog, I am an independant Stampin' Up® demonstrator with a passion for creating. I have a regular weekly blog on a Sunday that explores different stamp sets, die sets or products sold by Stampin' Up® and my Mid Week blog explores tips, techniques, card sketches, colour challenges & lots of other ideas to help you make the most of your crafting time. There are ideas for 'just starting out' crafters, 'in-betweeners' and more avid crafters.  This week is all about using card sketches to inspire new creations. I hope you like this simple card sketch & use it to create something for yourself. If you do, I would love it if you posted a pic on my Facebook page at craftedbyalison. My inspiration for this week's card came from feltmagnet.com courtesy of Google. 😁 Here is my creation beside the card sketch.   Now I don't often use black as a card base but when I was looking through my DSPs I saw the daffodil paper from

Introducing the 'Limited Edition' stamp set!

Hello & welcome to my blog! I am an independant Stampin' Up® demonstrator & get immense joy from creating for myself, my friends & customers. Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad you could visit my blog & I hope you find something to inspire you from my creations this week.  The stamp set I am featuring this week is called Limited Edition. It's a stamp set with a difference. Stampin' Up® have an amazing range of stamp sets which are all copyrighted to the company. Whenever their stamps are used to create a saleable item they require that the card features a ©Stampin' Up. They have created a whole set of stamps with this in mind but the stamp set is so much more than adding a copyright symbol to our creations. Here's some other ways of using this unique little stamp set. With sentiments including 'A Paper Hug From Me', 'Just For You' & 'Made With Love' my thoughts immediately turned to gift giving! With that idea in my

Mid Week blog #32 - Using Decorative masks

Image
Hello & welcome to my Mid Week blog, Thanks so much for stopping by. My Mid Week blog is designed to be shorter than my Sunday blogs so that I can share techniques, card design or other tips and tricks with you. I feature projects that can be created for beginners & can also be stepped up for a fancier or more detailed item.  I hope you enjoy this weeks focus which is creating using Decorative Masks. Masks can make a simple card pop, be the base of a detailed card or give you a design that only needs a sentiment. Today I will be using masks in different ways to help inspire you to use masks that you already have or to take that jump into purchasing some for the first time.  Here are the completed samples that I made using the Butterflies & Flowers masks from the January - June '22 Mini catalogue & the retired Adorning Designs decorative masks from the July - December '21 Mini catalogue. These are just some of the ways that masks can be used & I will feature

In Colours meets All squared away

Hello & welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad you could visit my blog & I hope you find something to inspire you from my creations this week. The stamp set I am featuring is called All Squared Away & has 4 really cute square stamps with patterns as well as a selection of sentiments & greetings. The stamp set co-ordinates with the Floral Squares dies so I've incorporated them in my designs as well. Please note that this is a retired stamp set and the dies are also retired. I have used these retired items to demonstrate that old and new go together beautifully as I've used them with the new 2022 - 2024 In Colours. I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed creating them. With 5 new In Colours just released from Stampin' Up® I decided to create a set of 5 cards so I could show you all the lovely colours. The set above has (from top left to bottom left) Parakeet Party, Orchid Oasis (centre), Starry Sky, Sweet Sorbet & Tahitian Tide. The
