Mid Week Blog #29 Double Fold with Belly Band

Image
Hello & welcome to my blog. Thanks so much for stopping by. My mid Week blog is designed to be shorter than my Sunday blogs so that I can share techniques, card design or other tips and tricks with you. I feature projects that can be created for beginners & can also be stepped up for a fancier or more detailed item. I hope you enjoy this weeks focus which is a Double Fold card with a Belly Band.   I started with a standard A4 sheet of Basic White cardstock, cut to 14.8 x 29.7cm. I scored on the long side at 9.5 & 20cm to give 3 distinct areas of the card. I used Evening Evergreen as the first matte on the two folding wings & added some Ever Eden DSP. Each layer is .5cm smaller than the previous layer. I was so sad when this beautiful DSP was only available for a short time & hope that Stampin' Up® bring it back soon.    On the inside wings I used different designs of the same DSP plus added some Basic White feature pieces die cut using the Stitched Nested Label

Calming Crane of Fortune make stunning creations

Hello & welcome to my blog! In this blog I will tell you how I created my focus cards using the stunning Symbols of Fortune Suite from the Stampin' Up® Jan-June '22 Mini Catalogue. This suite includes the Crane of Fortune stamp set, Good Fortune dies, Symbols of Fortune DSP, Mother of Pearl Specialty paper as well as Soft Succulent Ribbon & Polished dots. The only sad thing is that it's only available during the life of this catalogue. 😞 If you like what you see then you need to think about stopping by my  online store  to order it before it retires. So without further ado, here are the cards I created for you... Card number 1 is CASED from the catalogue mentioned above. I started with a Crumb Cake card base, cut a piece of Symbols of Fortune DSP for the matte plus a smaller piece, cut into 3, for the 2nd matte. I stamped the crane in Basic Grey & used the dies for him as well as the Soft Succulent greenery around his feet. The strips are popped up on some dim

Hello & welcome to my Mid Week Blog! Thanks so much for stopping by. My mid week blog is designed to be shorter than my Sunday blogs so that I can share techniques, card design or other tips and tricks with you. I feature projects that can be created for beginners & can also be stepped up for a fancier or more detailed item. I hope you enjoy this weeks focus which is CASEing the Stampin' Up® catalogue. The stamp set I chose to CASE is the beautiful Crane of Fortune from the Jan - June 2022 Mini catalogue. The cards are featured on page 22 of the catalogue & I chose the following card.... I love the simplicity of the design & the soft colours. It makes me feel mellow just looking at it! LOL. This is the original from the catalogue. I didn't change much, just the spacing of the panels & using DSP that included a crane in the corner. It's such a pretty card. There are so many beautiful cards to CASE from the catalogue it was hard to choose which one. I'

Plentiful Plants to calm the soul.

Hello & welcome to my blog!  Thank you so much for stopping by. If this is your first visit, welcome. If you're returning, thank you for continuing to follow my creating journey.  This week I have a lovely set of cards for you that I made with the Plentiful Plants stamp set, Perfect Plants dies & Bloom Where You're Planted DSP. Hope you enjoy them! I started out with a simple layout, embossing some DSP with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder then gently blending some Sahara Sand across it to give a little more colour. I stamped a timber design from the On the Horizon stamp set on some Grey Granite scraps, cutting strips with the corners edged for the shelving. I stamped the plants in Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz & Evening Evergreen & used the Perfect Plants dies to cut them out. I  diecut some pots from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP & glued the plants onto them. I adhered the bottom of the pots onto the back of the shelving & added some dimensi

Mid Week Blog #27 Accordion card

Hello & welcome to my Mid Week blog!  Thanks so much for stopping by. My Mid Week blog is a little different to my Sunday blog as I look at tips, tricks & techniques as well as card sketches & CASEing cards from the Stampin' Up® catalogue or beautiful cards I've seen & just had to replicate. This week I am showing you how to make a really effective fancy fold that is very easy to make but has a certain WOW factor. It's called an accordion fold & can be used to use up excess cardstock (we all buy a little more than we should right?) & can also be adapted to be landscape, portrait, 3 peaks or 2 peaks. I learnt this technique when I attended an Online Stamping Retreat last month & have made a number of cards this way. I love it & hope you do to.   These 2 cards have the first fold glued down to give a little extra support to the folding area & matted image. These 2 cards have all of the accordion folds open & allows you to add some extr

On the Horizon & New Horizons DSP

Hello & welcome to my blog!  Thank you so much for stopping by. If this is your first visit, welcome. If you're returning then thank you for continuing to follow my creating journey. This week I have some of the most scenic & easy to use DSP to show you. It's from the January to June '22 Mini catalogue & comes in 6"x6" size but there's 48 sheets! That's loads of creating there.      For my first card I wanted to highlight the stunning DSP so stamping was minimal. There are some birds flying in the corner & a sentiment. That's it! the only other detail is some Night of Navy matting. How easy is that? The second card was a fun fold I learnt in the Online Stamping Retreat last week. Again, the DSP is the main focal point with the birds & a sentiment but the ship (non Stampin' Up®) is fussy cut then attached to a cut out that pops up when you open the card. The base card uses Blackberry Bliss cardstock. The die used for the pop up
