Calming Crane of Fortune make stunning creations

Hello & welcome to my blog!

In this blog I will tell you how I created my focus cards using the stunning Symbols of Fortune Suite from the Stampin' Up® Jan-June '22 Mini Catalogue. This suite includes the Crane of Fortune stamp set, Good Fortune dies, Symbols of Fortune DSP, Mother of Pearl Specialty paper as well as Soft Succulent Ribbon & Polished dots. The only sad thing is that it's only available during the life of this catalogue. 😞 If you like what you see then you need to think about stopping by my online store to order it before it retires.

So without further ado, here are the cards I created for you...

Card number 1 is CASED from the catalogue mentioned above. I started with a Crumb Cake card base, cut a piece of Symbols of Fortune DSP for the matte plus a smaller piece, cut into 3, for the 2nd matte. I stamped the crane in Basic Grey & used the dies for him as well as the Soft Succulent greenery around his feet. The strips are popped up on some dimensionals & I added one or two to the back of the crane to lift him up a little. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey also on Crumb Cake & the card is finished with a few Polished dots.

Card number 2 was inspired by another card from the catalogue...
but when I was die cutting the foliage I decided to add a strip of Gold Shimmer vellum instead of the floral used in the sample. I also changed the shape of the sentiment backing & used Calypso Coral instead of Soft Succulent for a little pop of colour. You can just see a peep of some golden dragonflies inside the card which are stamped in Bumblebee.

Now if you're a regular follower of my blog you may recognise the final card with the accordion fold. It was featured in my blog on 30/3 when I showed some cards I made at an online stamping retreat. I chose to show it again so that I could give you more details about the card & because it featured different papers & colours than the other 2 cards. The base is Flirty Flamingo with a Black matte. The accordion is simply a piece of Symbols of Fortune DSP scored 4 times & folded 3 times to achieve the right bends. I glued down the final fold & adhered a small piece of golden ribbon as a visual of how to open the card. The flower is stamped in Flirty Flamingo & backed with some more of that gorgeous Gold Shimmer vellum#.  There are just a couple of Wonderful Gems on the front to finish it off.

#unfortunately the Gold Shimmer vellum is no longer available so I've put a link to the Gold Foil sheets below instead.

As you can see, the Symbols of Fortune suite is very versatile. I love the colours & the images remind me of tranquil, peaceful places. Do you get the same vibe?

That' if for another week. I've popped some links to my online shop at the end of my blog if you'd like to order anything that I've used today. My next Mid Week blog features a double-fold with a bellyband and my regular blog next week will feature some products from the about to be released new Annual catalogue! Don't forget that the current catalogue retires on the 2nd May so there are lots of clearance items on the Clearance Rack. I've added a link again that will take you to my shop. Once there, just type in Clearance Rack in the search bar & it will take you there. I hope you find lots of bargains there!

Thanks again for popping over. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
