Mid Week blog#106 Case the catalogue

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.

Stampin' Up®s catalogues are a great way to get inspiration when you want to create. All the work is done for you when it comes to creating a card design. All you have to do is CASE it - Copy And Share Everywhere/Everything! This week I am CASEing a stamp set that is perfect for the plant lover in your life - Planted Paradise. It's a lovely set that is reversible which means you can use the back & front of the photopolymer stamps. Double your moneys worth!

Here are my creations based on the Stampin' Up® cards featured in the Jan - Apr '24 Mini Catalogue.

These 2 cards are CASE'd versions of Planted Paradise cards from the catalogue & are very similar to the originals which are below.
There are 3 Stampin' Up® cards in this image but the smaller image on the right is simply an example of the stamping used  to create the cards.

The catalogue version uses the spot stamp from the set as the background whereas mine uses a mask from the Butterflies & Flowers set. They both use Crumbcake as the base and both have a Cajun Craze pot with greenery. Mine has a mixture of greens & leaves slightly different from the original. Mine, as yet, doesn't have a sentiment. The original has diecut 'Thanks'. I used up some Genial Gems for my bling whereas the original has some peals.

The second card is more close to the original.

The card base is Crumbcake like the original but the DSP is from Just Kiddin'. I mixed up the colours of the pots & added a brass dragonfly & Wild Wheat butterfly as well as some more Genial Gems. I raised up the right pot on one layer of glue dots, the smallest pot on double glue dots & the largest pot on dimensionals. The friendship sentiment in the original card was not one I wanted to use so I made a 'Just a note' card instead. Both cards are decorated inside & as you can see in the first photo, I also decorated an envelope for them.
I had a lot of fun CASEing these cards. When you have a creation in front of you it can really kickstart the creative juices, especially if you are in a dry spell. I'd love to see any creations you CASE, please feel free to pop on over to my facebook page at craftedbyalison & post a pic of your creation.

Well, that's it for another mid week blog. My next blog is on Sunday & I'll be sharing some more creations made with the Planted Paradise stamp.
Next week's mid week blog will feature a card sketch. I love card sketches because there are unlimited ways you can use them!
I hope you can join me for both of them. Til next time, take care & keep creating!
XX Alison
