Mid Week blog #38 Using a scoreboard for detailing

Image
Hello & welcome to my Mid Week blog, I am an independant Stampin' Up® demonstrator with a passion for creating. I have a regular weekly blog on a Sunday that explores different stamp sets, die sets or products sold by Stampin' Up® and my Mid Week blog explores tips, techniques, card sketches, colour challenges & lots of other ideas to help you make the most of your crafting time. There are ideas for 'just starting out' crafters, 'in-betweeners' and more avid crafters.  This week I will show you how to use a scoring board or scoring tool to add interest & detail to your creations. I must confess that once I got started on this project I got a bit carried away & have got 4 samples for you this week!  Here's the set of 4 that I made using both the Stampin' Up® cutting & scoring tool as well as their regular scoreboard. I found some lovely designs on Pinterest that inspired me including this first card. Using the cutting & scoring too

In heaven with Hydrangea Haven

Hello & welcome to my blog, My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog features  one of my favourite stamp sets, Hydrangea Haven. I've used different stamps on each card to show you the versatility of the stamp set. There are 3 completely different styles of cards, one uses DSP, ribbons & diecuts, another is stamped on die cuts & the third is DSP & stamping. I hope you like them all! I love the colours of this first card as it takes me back to my childhood home where Mum & Dad had a hedge of blue, purple & pink hydrangeas near the front door. That's where I went to with this card. On a Basic White base I added a matte of Gorgeous Grape, a panel of Hydrangea Hill DSP & wrapped around a piece of Fresh Freesia glitter Grosgrain ribbon. I diecut a fra

There are ideas for 'just starting out' crafters, 'in-betweeners' and more avid crafters.  This week I have a super easy fun fold for you called a Bird House fold.  I started with some Crumb Cake cardstock to create a regular portrait card base & scored it in half. From the centre fold scoreline I marked 5cm on each side at the top & bottom then scored diagonally to make an 'X' across the centre score line.   If you enjoy or have used Origami before then you can easily pinch fold both of these score lines to tuck them into the card & create the 'roof

Hello & welcome to my blog, My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Last night I attended an online crafting event hosted by Stampin' Up® for demonstrators across the globe. It featured a new stamp set & dies that is about to be released in the new July - Deember '22 mini catalogue. I had so much fun creating with this set & I'm sure it will be very popular. At the end of this blog I'll share a couple of sneaky pics of the projects we made but for full details you'll have to wait for a future blog! Today's blog features a stamp set I have already shown you, Hello Ladybug, but this time I'm focussing on the flowers instead of the Ladybugs.   Even though it's the middle of a wintry cold snap here in Melbourne, these cards have lifted my spirits, bringing

There are ideas for 'just starting out' crafters, 'in-betweeners' and more avid crafters.  This week I have a card that has been CASE'd from the current May '22 - Apr '23 catalogue. It uses one of my favourite sets from a previous catalogue which Stampin' Up® have retained in the latest catalogue - Pansy Patch & Pansy dies. Here is my card plus the card that appears on page 15 of the current catalogue.... Here are some of the supplies I used to re-create the card.  I don't have the same materials that were used in the original card so used what I have on
