Poinsettia Petals

Image
Hello & welcome to this week's blog. My focus this week is on the beautiful Poinsettia stamp set & matching Poinsettia dies. Most people think of Christmas when they think of Poinsettias but the beautiful shape of the petals when done in different shades makes this flower very versatile. This week I had a little play around with Poinsettias & am happy to share my creations with you today. I really enjoyed creating with this stamp set this week. With 2 of the cards I stuck with traditional red, white, green & gold but for the final card I wanted to have something completely different & splashed out with purple! Here's the first of my creations.  The first card has a few layers of matting but still fits inside the envelope. 😄 I used a Garden Green matt, the Sale-A-Bration Be dazzling specialty paper then Real Red before stamping on a Basic White layer. I used the double stamping method on the poinsettia leaves & the yellow berries but also added some spon

Hi everyone, Welcome to my blog! I hope you've had a wonderful week. After a crazy 3rd term, school is out for 2 weeks & I'm so looking forward to relaxing, unwinding, crafting & hopefully being able to get out and about a little more than we have the last few months! This week I've been working on some wonderful creations using the Dragonfly Garden stamp set & co-ordinating Dragonflies Punch. This is a set that I've been wanting to use for ages & I just kept getting distracted with other sets & projects. Now here are the projects I have made this week...... I wanted to show you a variety of ways to use the stamps so I created 3 different types of cards. The first card is simple white on white with a few pops of colour but the subtle feature of the card is the partial embossing made using the Pretty Flowers embossing folder. The cardstock is only run through the machine for a few turns rather than all the way through. Pretty neat! I stamped the bouqu

Hello Everyone & welcome to my blog, For this week's blog I decided to create some cards using the same basic design & build upon it. There are many examples around of 'Steppin' it up and what I have made this week is similar. These were made using one of the free Sale-A-Bration stamp sets which you can get when you purchase from the catalogue. I hope you like them. Now I'm not sure if you're aware of this but blue is my favourite colour! That made making these cards pretty easy for me. I started with a simple stamped card.... I used the 2 step stamping technique for both the leaves and flowers. The colours I used are Seaside Spray & Misty Moonlight and Garden Green. The smaller flower appears to be nestled behind the larger flower as I used the masking technique to cover some of the larger bloom. The sentiment is from the Biggest Wish stamp set, stamped straight onto the card front. I finished the card with a few blue Holiday Rhinestone basic jewels. Q

Hello & welcome to this week's blog, Thanks for coming to visit. I hope you've had a great week. I've had another busy but enjoyable week. Some of my work colleagues & I have signed up to the STEPtember challenge to raise awareness & funds for Cerebral Palsy so even though I generally walk a lot I've been more vigilant about opportunities to grab some extra steps in my day. This has been a wonderful distraction from WEEK 7! of Lockdown in Melbourne and Melbourne sure did welcome spring in a fantastic manner with blooms everywhere & temps in the 20's. That is before she did an about face and went back to cold & wet days. Nevermind, still good to get out and about. Apart from stepping & enjoying some lovely weather, I've also been busy creating more Christmas themed goodies, as promised last week, using some of the items that are available in the July - December '21 mini catalogue & some freebies from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.
