Hello Ladybug revisited

Image
Hello & welcome to my blog, My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia.  I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP.  This week I am featuring a stamp set that has been featured here before but I've used it to make a set of notecards this time. It's the sweet Hello Ladybug stamp set  which also has a matching punch. Aren't they adorable? They're only 3" x 3" so they're just right for a quick thank-you, hello or quick n7/8ote. They will have envelopes of course & I'll package them with some ribbon in a cellophane bag. I think they'll make a really cute little gift. So to create them I simply cut up 10 pieces of Basic White measuring 6" x 3" & scor

I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about. Gatefold fun folds are a great way to create a card with a little bit of wow without lots of work involved. This week's cards were created using a funfold as the base idea but instead of both sides of the fold being equal, the two sides are different sizes. Here are the two cards...   I chose to create two different versions, 1 landscape & 1 portrait. Both of them use Delightfully Eclectic DSP

I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP.  This week I am featuring a pretty floral stamp set called Artistically Inked that has been with Stampin' Up® for a few catalogues but is still a beautiful set to create with. My apologies to those who read by blogs regularly, I had previously said that I would be featuring Natures Prints but when I looked for the stamp set I realised that I had in fact bought the DSP when it was available but not the stamp set!! Silly me as it's a beautiful set. I then substituted Artistically Inked as it's really beautiful. So with apologies done with, here are the cards I made with Artist

That's what this blog is about. Today I have 2 cards I CASE'd from the new Annual Catalogue using the Zoo Crew suite which is featured on page 46. Here are my versions of the cards... ... and here are the images from the catalogue... There's not a lot of difference, just some subtle changes. For the first card I used Lemon Lime Twist for the base with a 10.5x21cm matte in the same colour. This matte had all of the circle fea

This week I have a 3D creation for you. Gift bags are wonderful for enclosing presents but sometimes you need a box to hold your items. This week I show you how to create 2 different sized boxes using the same method but different measurements. Both are very easy to make & once you start creating them you will find that a measurement tweak is all you need to make lots of different sized boxes to suit your needs.  This box will hold 4 or 5 cards depending on the size of the card. If there are lots of dimensionals then you would fit less. I they are simple cards of one layer then yo

My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about. Today I have a lovely technique for you that uses up scraps & strips. I created 2 cards with different starburst designs & with the leftover scraps from one of the cards I made a 'scrappy strips' card matte. Here are the two finished cards... I think they are lovely. And both made with scraps. Perfect. Here are some pictures of the process I used to create the cards. Gather together so
