Hello Ladybug revisited

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP.

This week I am featuring a stamp set that has been featured here before but I've used it to make a set of notecards this time. It's the sweet Hello Ladybug stamp set  which also has a matching punch.

Aren't they adorable? They're only 3" x 3" so they're just right for a quick thank-you, hello or quick n7/8ote. They will have envelopes of course & I'll package them with some ribbon in a cellophane bag. I think they'll make a really cute little gift.
So to create them I simply cut up 10 pieces of Basic White measuring 6" x 3" & scored them in half.
Next was some Glorious Gingham DSP cut to 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" which was attached to the front. The colours of the DSP are Berry Burst, Pecan Pie, Lemon Lime Twist, Pretty Peacock & Blueberry Bushell.

Here are the bases & fronts ready to assemble.
The next step was to diecut 10 Basic White circles using the Stylish Shapes dies.
I stamped the ladybug body directly onto & punched the wings out separately.
I used the same colours as the DSP but mixed it up a little by using Saddle Brown Stazon & Pebbled Path for two bodies & Coastal Cabana wings with Pretty Peacock spots for the wings of the Pretty Peacock card. The wings were attached using glue dots & green glue & I varied the number of glue dots on some of the cards to raise them up just a little bit more.
I decided that we needed a bee amongst all the ladybugs so I cut out a body in Lemon Lolly & fussy cut small strips, leaving space in between then glued them onto the stamped body. The wings for the bees were punched out of Vellum.

The sentiments are all from Go To Greetings & were diecut using Stylish Shapes dies also.
So that's it for the notecards! A really quick & easy project that makes a lovely gift. They can be glammed up with ribbon or bling or kept simple like this set.
I hope you've enjoyed this post & create some notecards of your own. If you do I would love to see what you create so please feel free to post a pic on my facebook page at craftedbyalison.
