Pretty Artistic flowers

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP.

This week I am featuring a pretty floral stamp set called Artistically Inked that has been with Stampin' Up® for a few catalogues but is still a beautiful set to create with. My apologies to those who read by blogs regularly, I had previously said that I would be featuring Natures Prints but when I looked for the stamp set I realised that I had in fact bought the DSP when it was available but not the stamp set!! Silly me as it's a beautiful set. I then substituted Artistically Inked as it's really beautiful. So with apologies done with, here are the cards I made with Artistically Inked.

These two cards were quite simple to make but I love how pretty they are and how very different they are even though they used the same stamp set & dies.
I started the first card with some blending after diecutting the Basic Black overlay out with the Artistic dies. I placed it over some Basic White & lightly made a few little pencil marks to give me an idea of where to blend each colour. Then, using Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green & Lemon Lime Twist I carefully blended the areas that would roughly be under the diecut.
Here's the diecut & how the blending looks before the black was overlayed...

The next step was to layer the image on a Daffodil Delight matte which was embossed using the Timeworn Type folder, then a matte of Basic Black before adding to a Calypso Coral card 13.5 x  13.5cm card base. The sentiment is white embossing with the ends punched with the Banners Pick-a-punch then mounted on dimensionals. I finished the card with a little bling, using up some retired Fine Sparkle gems.

For the second card I drew inspiration from a Pinterest post by Mena Green at Personally Yours & tweaked it just a little to 'make it my own'. Now if you have been following me or know me at all, you know that blue is my favourite colour so I love this card!

I used Blueberry Bushel cardstock & ink along with Smokey Slate, Boho Blue & Lemon Lime Twist inks for the flowers & leaves. The Basic White matte behind the flowers is embossed using the Merry Melody embossing folder. To continue with the musical theme I added a sentiment from Enjoy The Rhythm as well as some musical notes from Zany Zoo. This was diecut with the Stitched Rectangles dies & mounted with dimensionals. No bling for this card.

It's such a pretty card but was quick & easy to put together. One of my favourites I think.
