Hello & welcome to this week's blog,
Thanks for coming to visit. I hope you've had a great week. I've had another busy but enjoyable week. Some of my work colleagues & I have signed up to the STEPtember challenge to raise awareness & funds for Cerebral Palsy so even though I generally walk a lot I've been more vigilant about opportunities to grab some extra steps in my day. This has been a wonderful distraction from WEEK 7! of Lockdown in Melbourne and Melbourne sure did welcome spring in a fantastic manner with blooms everywhere & temps in the 20's. That is before she did an about face and went back to cold & wet days. Nevermind, still good to get out and about.
Apart from stepping & enjoying some lovely weather, I've also been busy creating more Christmas themed goodies, as promised last week, using some of the items that are available in the July - December '21 mini catalogue & some freebies from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. This is what I've made for you....
There were so many ideas I wanted to create but I limited me creations to these 5 items to give you an idea of how easy it is to get ready for Christmas with just a few supplies.
First up are the 3 gift bags.
The larger bag is around 24cm (9 1/2") tall & was quick & easy to make following a visit to some youtube videos then tweaking it to fit what I wanted. It's made from one of the pieces of Peaceful Prints DSP that are free with Sale-a-bration plus a little bit of Sahara Sand cardstock & some pearl brads I had left over from a long time ago. The top of the bag is glued at the back & reinforces with two brads & the front pearls have some cute Black & White bakers twine from the Playful Pets suite. This would be great for some treats or a small bottle of shower gel or even a lovely hand cream.
The next two were made from the one sheet of Peaceful Prints DSP but have been reversed to give different finishes.
These were the quickest to make and fit a smaller gift as shown in the pics. Perfect for a work gift or teacher thank you or even a gift card. I changed up the colours of the ribbon to show that these bags can be for either gender. They have a reinforced base to give a little more strength. Super cute I think!
Next up was a small gift box made to pop a gift card or some small treats in.
I started with one of the Stampin' Up Mini Pizza boxes in white (but would look gorgeous as a Mini Paper Pumpkin box too). I added a piece of Sweet Stockings DSP then die cut the stunning Poinsettia using the Poinsettia Dies & Evening Evergreen, Real Red & Daffodil Delight cardstock. I finished it off with a few 2021-23 In Colour jewels to the centre of the flower then wrapped some Old Olive shimmery ribbon that came from the Ornate Garden collection. Very pretty but quick & easy.
Lastly I used Lisa Curcio from Lisa's stamp studio as inspiration by creating a set of gift tags.
These were super simple to create. I used the Fancy Tag Topper punch to create the top but any of the tag punches would work. I stamped the fir & pinecone from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Evening Evergreen & stamped off to create different dimension. I also found out that the Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Write is the perfect colour for pinecones! With this in mind i stamped the xxx's in Cinnamon Cider also using one of the stamps from the Sweet Little Stockings stamp set. The DSP strip is an offcut from the Peaceful Prints pack & the ribbon is Cinnamon Cider & Mossy Meadow. The sentiment is from the Sweet Little Stockings stamp set also & is heat embossed in Bronze.
To finish off the set I stamped 'To' & 'From' on the back of the tag, stamped the same detail on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock & popped them in a Printed Gusseted Cellophane bag before sealing it. A cute little gift for friends or colleagues.
Phew, when I see it all in pics & words it makes me feel tired! I had so much fun though & now know what I want to create for my shop for Christmas. There's still lots of other card & gift giving designs I want to create but, for now, that's all I have for Christmas designs.
Next week I'm going to show you another of the free stamp sets I got from the Sale-a-bration catalogue, Delicate Dahlias. Such a pretty stamp. It's two step so it allows you to use both stamps together to create depth & detail to the flowers. I've seen some gorgeous cards doing the rounds using this set & am so looking forward to having a play with that.
If you would like to take advantage of the free items on offer during Sale-a-bration then you'd best be quick as they run out at the end of September.
If you would like a free catalogue then I'm happy to send one out to you.
If you'd like to purchase any of the supplies I've used today then head on over to my online store at
Shop with me. There are also links below if you'd like to save a little time by clicking directly on the item you want.
Thanks again for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my creations & can come back next week. Take care & keep safe & crafting. XX Alison
