Delicate Dahlias in Blues

Hello Everyone & welcome to my blog,

For this week's blog I decided to create some cards using the same basic design & build upon it. There are many examples around of 'Steppin' it up and what I have made this week is similar. These were made using one of the free Sale-A-Bration stamp sets which you can get when you purchase from the catalogue. I hope you like them.

Now I'm not sure if you're aware of this but blue is my favourite colour! That made making these cards pretty easy for me.

I started with a simple stamped card....

I used the 2 step stamping technique for both the leaves and flowers. The colours I used are Seaside Spray & Misty Moonlight and Garden Green. The smaller flower appears to be nestled behind the larger flower as I used the masking technique to cover some of the larger bloom. The sentiment is from the Biggest Wish stamp set, stamped straight onto the card front. I finished the card with a few blue Holiday Rhinestone basic jewels. Quick & simple.

Next up is a 'mid-range' card that uses a little more detail & products.

Same card base but I added a matt of Seaside Spray, some 2020-22 In Colour DSP & ribbon before fussy cutting a bloom & some leaves & raising them on dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Create With Friends stamp set straight onto the matt in Night of Navy & finished it with some pearls & a splash of Wink of Stella on the card & bloom. Still quite simple but pops more.

The third card took a bit more work but I think it looks gorgeous.

I started with the white base, adding the Seaside Spray matt but embossed it first with the Pretty Flowers embossing folder. I added a strip of Misty Moonlight that I ran through the embossing machine with a die from the Stitched leaves dies. The die only embossed the lines so I fussy cut around the lines before adding it to the matt & wrapping some silver cord from the Simply Elegant trim pack & adhering it to the base. The blooms were only stamped once, no outline this time, fussy cut & placed on the base directly apart from the darker bloom which I raised with some dimensionals. I stamped part of a sentiment from the Words of Cheer stamp set to make the 'Happy Wishes to You' instead of 'to you and yours' & mounted it on a Garden Green scrap. The ends were punched using the Banners Pick A Punch. Then all that was left to do was add a few of the Elegant Faceted gems to the centres of the flowers & voila!

I hope you enjoy these cards. Next week I will be playing around with the Dragonfly Garden stamp set & Dragonflies punch which I've been wanting to try for far too long.
If you would like me to send you a free catalogue then let me know & I'll pop one in the post.
If you would like to order any of the products I will add some links below that will take you to my online store. Please note that the Seaside Spray blue cardstock is now retired but I have added a link for Balmy Blue cardstock that would work just as well on these cards.
The cards are available from my shop on FaceBook at craftedbyalison

I have now received the Sale-a-bration Mega bundle & am busily working away at adding it to my shop for you to purchase. The bundle was created by independent Stampin' Up demonstrators from around the world (including me!) & has 39 different creative recipes, all made using FREE products from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. As soon as the link is available I'll let you know.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a lovely week & find some time to do the things that make you happy. See you next time! XXAlison
