Mid week blog #176 - Gifting solutions with the Suitcase treat boxes.
Hello & welcome.
My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia.
For those of you who have previously visited my blog & are now returning, thank you. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome!
Here's a little bit about me. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP and Wednesday evenings when I highlight a technique, fun folds or tools & tips. I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or suggestions & my email address for that is craftedbyalison@gmail.com.
As this post goes live I am still enjoying the lovely sunshine in Queensland, catching up with my dear friend from England, exploring the Gold Coast for the first time without our kids & celebrating my retirement. 😁 🌞
This week's project has a travel vibe as it uses one of Stampin' Up®'s precut gift boxes - cute mini suitcases! I hope you enjoy what I have made as much as I enjoyed creating it. Here is my finished project...
The Suitcase Treat Boxes come in a pack of 12 cute little treat size boxes, ready to assemble. They are easy to stamp directly onto but this time I decided to use some lovely Beautiful Bokeh DSP to decorate the outside plus some embellishments from the Frames & Flowers Specialty DSP pack.
I burnished all of the score lines & folded the box together so that I could get an idea of where to place the DSP (no point putting it on an area that will be glued or hidden!) & cut strips of DSP to fit the 5 areas I wanted covered.
Next, I chose some of the diecut foliage from the Frames & Flowers pack plus a cute little butterfly from the Something For Everything Ephemera pack. An Old Olive tag was diecut with one of the tags from the Mixed Labels dies & the foliage was arranged behind & over this. The Butterfly was added then a small White 1/4" ribbon bow was the last addition.
Assembling the suitcase is quite easy, tuck in some of side tabs, fold in sides & then fold down the top & it's done! As you can see from the following picture, there is a slit on one of the panels that allows the 'handle' to slide through. This helps to keep the case closed.
