Classic cards with the Classic Wedding stamps & dies

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia. For those of you who have previously visited my blog & are now returning, thank you. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome!

Here's a little bit about me. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP and Wednesday evenings when I highlight a technique, fun folds or tools & tips. I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or suggestions & my email address for that is craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Stampin' Up® 's Annual Catalogue was released last year with a very different format & it's a beauty! It's set out quite differently to previous catalogues but there are benefits to that. They now have sectioned it to have beginners, which is a step by step collection of materials in kits, then there is quick & easy where you select base materials & packs of pre-printed or diecut materials plus some stamp sets then there is create your way where you choose all the materials, stamps etc yourself & create your way! In the quick & easy section Stampin' Up® have also provided some inspiration with a colour wheel & information of various ways to use colour combinations. I explored this in a bit more detail in my 1/1/25 mid week blog. A new mini catalogue is launching in just a few days - January 7th with lots of lovely stamps, dies & papers to ooh & aah over. If you would like a copy of this new catalogue then please contact me at craftedbyalison@gmail.com. Stampin' Up® also have products available only online. These are called Online exclusives & have no end date, when the stock is sold out, that's the end of it. That's what I'm exploring in this post.

This week we take a look at an Online Exclusive stamp & die set called Classic Wedding. It's a beautiful, timeless set that is perfect for weddings but also for car enthusiasts & perfect for male cards.

I have an eclectic mix for you today with wedding, male & a CASE of a cute & funky 60's flower power card that I found on Pinterest. I hope you love them all as much as I loved creating them! These are the alternatives I created...

But first of all, here is a 'Classic' wedding card that I created for my daughter...

The base is Sweet Sorbet, there is a Pecan Pie matte & the car image is stamped on Basic White in Basic Gray & Smoky slate. The tyres were coloured with Basic Gray blends. The flowers, from the same stamp set, were coloured with Sweet Sorbet, Lemon Lolly & Lemon, Lime Twist. The cans are stamped in Smoky Slate. The cans, banner, flowers & hearts are all diecut with the matching dies. I used Gold foil sheets & Sweet Sorbet for the hearts also. The final touch once all of the elements were placed where I wanted them was to add a Sweet Sorbet bordered ribbon to tie it all together. Super cute.

Now for the instructions for the alternative ideas with these stamps & dies...

I used inspiration from Youtube to create these two very different cards. The card on the left is perfect for a male birthday & was inspired by a post at Papercraft with me & the second card is a retro 60's hippy inspired by a post at stampwithtami.com. Here's how I made them...

The vintage card starts with a Basic White base. A piece of Country Woods DSP was added to the left of the card. The car image was stamped in Pebbled Path & Basic Beige. I used second generation Balmy Blue for the rear windows. The tyres are coloured with a Basic Gray Stampin' Write marker & the tail lights were coloured with Poppy Parade. The window surrounds, bumper & latch are coloured with Light Smoky Slate blends and a scribble of Smoky Slate created a 'road' for the car to ride on. This image was then backed with a Pebbled Path matte. The Pebbled Path sentiment is from Go To Greetings & the final touch are some Antique Pearls which feature in the new Mini catalogue which launches in 2 days times! Here's a closeup of the pearls.

So that's it for the first card, now onto the funky 60's inspired card.

This card took a little longer than the first card as it's a funfold with mounted DSP layers that came from one sheet of 6"x6" Full of Life DSP. The base is Basic Black with Basic White mattes.

The card starts out like a regular card, 21cm x 14.85cm. The scoring is different though, with a regular score line at 10.5cm then another at 15.75cm. The mattes are 14.45cm x 10.1cm for the inside & 14.45cm x 4.85cm for the side panels. The DSP is cut at 14cm x 7cm for the inside & 14cm x 4.45cm for the panels.

The image was stamped directly onto another piece of the Full of Life DSP & diecut. The bumper, window surrounds & latch are diecut from Gray Granite. After the tail lights were coloured in Poppy Parade & the tyres in Basic Gray I adhered it to a Basic White circle diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies. The flowers & heart are diecut from scraps of the DSP with the flowers embellished with Iridescent Faceted gems & the hearts covered with Wink of Stella which you can see in the following photo.

I love how these alternatives have turned out. It allows you to get so much more out of a stamp set that at first sight seems to be just for weddings.

That's it for this creative episode. I hope you enjoyed seeing how easy it is to create for lots of different occasions with this stamp & die bundle.
