Plentiful plants
Hello & welcome to my blog!
There will be many happy parents in Melbourne at the moment as many of the students returned to school, even if only part time. I'm back full time & the children, whilst out of their usual school routines, are happy to see their friends & use our new playground which was installed at the beginning of lockdown. Poor cherubs didn't get to use it but now they are making good use of it. Full time at work takes a little adjustment but I'm lucky that when I need to have a little 'me' time I can immerse myself in creating.
And that's exactly what I did for this week's creations.
My focus stamp set is Plentiful Plants which co-ordinates beautifully with the Perfect Plants dies & Bloom Where You're Planted DSP. It is such a gorgeous suite but each part of it can be purchased separately. I loved immersing in nature for these creations.
This is a close up of the different types of plants in the stamp set. Here are some pics that give you different views.
The base of this card is Crumb Cake, the 1st matt on both front & back is Very Vanilla & the 2nd matt on the front is Early Espresso which I ran through the embossing machine using the Timber embossing folder. I stamped the pots on Crumb Cake, Early Espresso & Very Vanilla & the plants on Evening Evergreen & Verry Vanilla but the pot on the inside platform was fussy cut from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP. . I ran a piece of Very Vanilla through the embossing machine with the Tasteful Textures folder before die cutting the hanging macrame frame but the imprint is very soft. All the plants are stamped in Evening Evergreen. The small piece of brickwork that the ground plants are sitting on is just a snippet of the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP for some contrast. The sentiments are simply stamped on Very Vanilla as the busyness of the card front didn't need any more colour or detail. If you would like any more details on how to create this card, I have a free tutorial available on These Are My Stamps.
The second card I have for you is a triple layer card. It looks tricky but is actually very easy to make.
My final card is one I made during a Craft-A-Long-Athon last weekend. I incorporated the colours of a challenge I'm in to kill two projects with one card. The colours are Bumblebee, Pool Party, Cinnamon Cider & Early Espresso. I used a layout from Nancy Stollnitz at Nancy's Nifty Notes as inspiration.
I wouldn't have thought to use Pool Party with the other Autumn toned colours but I really like how they contrast. I only used Basic White & Early Espresso cardstock for the base & matting with some scraps of Pool Party for the sentiment matt & dragonfly made with the Dragonflies Punch & a little layer of Shimmery Crystal Effects. The bling is simply a few Genial Gems.
So that is all I have for you this week but I have my mid-week blog on Wednesday which will be showing you how to add a different look to the background of a card & next week's blog will be showcasing a new Christmas stamps set & dies - Tidings & Trimmings stamps & Christmas Trimmings dies. I hope you can come back for both of those blogs.
