Learn your ABC's with Alphabest!
Hello, welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! 😍
This week I was able to have a little sleep in due to daylight savings finishing. I do love the extra time to rest up don't you? I have a wonderfully versatile stamp set to share with you this week. It's called Alphabest & has the whole alphabet in lower case script plus rectangular border shapes to encase them. Some of these shapes are patterned, some are plain or just an outline. Included are some symbols, patterns & prints as well. There is so much you could do with these little beauties. Plus, there's a cute little punch that easily punches out the letters for you! I've just made the one card this week as a teaser but I plan more designs in the future.
Here's the card I made for you today....
It's a really simple design, featuring an embossed background, metallic strip & stamped sentiment. I thought it would make a good male birthday card or could be used for someone who likes simple, clean cards. If you wanted to zhuzh it up a bit you could add some Black Matte Dots or colour in some pearls using a co-ordinating Stampin' Blend.
To create this quick card I started with a Basic White card base. On some scrap Basic White I stamped the letters & border shape using Stazon Black for a darker, crisper finish then punched them out. I used the Let's Celebrate embossing folder to create the background on some Merry Merlot cardstock. It is a mini pack (it can be used in either the regular or mini cut & emboss machines) & has loads of 'Happy Birthday' greetings in a variety of languages. It just adds a little bit extra to the simplicity of the card. I cut a strip of gold Brushed Metallic cardstock & after adhering it to the embossed strip I carefully spaced out the letters how I wanted them & used green (Tombow) liquid glue & glue dots to adhere them to the metallic strip & embossed strip. I used this combination because the metallic strip was slightly higher than the embossed layer & I wanted the letters to sit evenly.
Here's a close up of the embossing & lettering.
As I mentioned earlier, you could add a little extra with some embellishments but I decided to go very simple for this card.
Well that's it for another week. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this post. My next post is for my mid week blog on Wednesday when I will be giving you a round up of what's new with Stampin' Up®. I'll have some info on the new colours & information & links to the Last Chance lists for both the Annual & Mini catalogues. These lists will be available to purchase from April 4th 2023 while stocks last. I have included a link for the Mini catalogue here which you can use FROM 4th April, but the Annual catalogue link is not available just yet.
In next Sunday's post I'll be sharing with you one of the Online Exclusive products - Irresistible Blooms. There are gorgeous stamps, dies & DSP in this collection which I'm sure you'll love. I can't wait to show you what I make! I hope you can join me again for both of these posts.
HOT NEWS:
- Just a reminder that Stampin' Up® will be launching their new Annual Catalogue in just a few short weeks! I've had a look at it & boy, there is some gorgeous stuff in there! There will also be a new mini catalogue launching at the same time. Stampin' Up® have changed their catalogue launch times to have both the Annual & Mini launch at the same time. This gives you more time to browse without wondering when the next catalogue is due!
- They have also announced that they will be having a 'colour refresh' which will include not only the new In Colours but a change up of the regular colours in the range. There are also some old, previously retired colours returning so if you held on to a favourite colour but are running low, here's your chance to grab some more. I have seen the new colour collection & just quietly, it's amazing! And yes there are more blues. Yippee!!
- Don't forget the Online Exclusive products that are available now! Check out my online shop here
If you would like to purchase any of my creations that I feature in my blogs they can be found in my FaceBook shop at craftedbyalison or you can or order something unique.
