Mid week blog#174 - Heat embossing with the Inspiring Imperfections stamp set

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.

Over the last few weeks I have been exploring various products from the Kintsugi Inspirations suite & this week I am exploring heat embossing with the set as it has some lovely stamps that are easy to heat emboss with. I hope you enjoy this next exploration with me.

I have made 2 different cards for this week's post. Here they are...

The first card I created used only two colours - Basic Black & Very Vanilla.

The Basic Black base has a Very Vanilla matte that was embossed with the Kintsugi folder then the edges were distressed for a rustic look. I also used the Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to add some splatter.
Over this is a Black matte & a Very Vanilla matte with the same splattering plus a black, heat embossed sentiment from the retired Crane of Fortune stamp set.
The vase was created by using the two 'crack' stamps, versamark & Gold embossing powder on Basic Black then diecutting the shape with the Kintsugi dies & adhering with liquid glue.
A very simple card but elegant as well.
Here's a closeup of the details of the card...

For the second card I used lots of colours!

The base is Terracotta Tile & this time I heat embossed the same cracked images all over a matte of the same colour.
A smaller strip of Garden Green was embossed with the embossing folder & added, then a piece of Basic White was added off centre with a black heat embossed sentiment from So Sincere.
The focal point are two vases diecut from 2 gorgeous patterns from the Mixed Media Florals DSP pack.
One has the crackle pattern embossed in gold, the other was cut into pieces, dipped into the Versamark ink pad then into gold embossing powder. A unique look to both of them.
They were then raised on dimensionals and a few extra mini glue dots to the right vase.

I love both of these cards & have thoroughly enjoyed playing around with the Kintsugi Inspirations suite over the last few weeks. It is such a lovely collection with dies, stamps & beautiful DSP but it's time for something different so this Sunday's blog post will feature a scrapbooking layout & next week's mid week blog looks at colour combinations using the Colour Wheel.
I hope you can join me for both of them.
Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
