Biggest Wish stamps create a great background!

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog is all about using the Biggest Wish stamp set as the background feature of a card. I hope you like what I've made!

Both cards this week are simple cards, suitable for either gender & surprisingly I didn't add any bling to either card! 😲🤯

Here's the first card....

Friendship is really important to me so I do tend to create Hello or friendship cards whenever I can. For this card I used some of my favourite colours, Blues, with yellow & tan to compliment. The card base is Misty Moonlight & the sentiment matte is Night of Navy. I used some of the free Rings of Love DSP that was available during the July to August Sale-a-bration & chose complimentary colours from that pack. I chose the cursive Hello stamp & used Soft Sea Foam, Seaside Spray, So Saffron, Crumb Cake & Misty Moonlight inks for both the backing 'hello' & the featured 'FRIEND'. The 'Friend' sentiment was fussy cut and both that & the hello sentiment were then backed with Night of Navy & mounted with dimensionals. To continue with the Hello theme I embossed a strip of So Saffron with the Thanks/Hello embossing folder to use at the bottom of the card. A strip of DSP inside the card was the last touch. Done and dusted!

For the second card I chose rainbow colours.

For the DSP I again chose some Rings of Love DSP with reds & greens as the first matte on a Pretty Peacock base. I picked out the complimentary colours of Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay & Pretty Peacock for the 'HAPPY' sentiments. The background features all but Pretty Peacock and some colours were second stamped. The raised Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay & Pretty Peacock, die cut with one of the Stitched Shape oval dies then mounted with dimensionals. Another use of scrap strips of DSP for the inside & the card was finished.

So that's it for another week. I loved creating these super quick & easy cards this week & I hope you enjoyed checking out my creations. Thanks for popping in. My next Mid Week blog on Wednesday features a card sketch to get those creative juices flowing! Next week's regular blog showcases the Ocean Front stamp set to create some masculine cards. I hope you can join me for both of these blogs.
