Using the Basics 3D embossing folders

  Hello, welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! 😍

This week I am sharing some creations made with the Basics 3D embossing folders as the starting point combined with the gorgeous Awash in Beauty DSP & some of the new colours that will be released in Stampin' Up®'s new Annual catalogue which goes live in just 2 days!!! There is a colour refresh which means that some of the core colours are retiring, some brand new ones are arriving & some previously retired colours are returning. Not to mention that there are new In-Colours for 2023-25! Wowsers, there's lots to share from this new catalogue but I will share little bits at a time. To start with, here are the cards with 3 of the new colours...

The three colours I chose to use today are Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist & Berry Burst.

For the first card I used the cross hatch design from the folders for the first matte, added a Basic White matte then added a Berry Burst matte embossed with the dotty folder. To decorate it I added a spray of flowers fussy cut from the Awash in Beauty DSP. I added a sentiment stamped in Merry Merlot, from Irresistible Blooms, fussy cut & adhered with some glue dots placed on the raised dots of the matte. A few of the 2022-23 jewels were added to complete it.

The second card uses a Lemon Lime Twist matte embossed with the dotty folder but this time I reversed the dots so that they were dents rather than dots. A Basic White matte was next before adding an Azure Afternoon matte embossed with the star/flower folder. The bloom was fussy cut & raised on dimensionals. Some Starry Sky woven metallic ribbon was wrapped around both mattes before they were raised on dimensionals. The sentiment is from Here's a Card & is stamped in Night of Navy. I punched the end of the sentiment tag with the Lovely Labels pick-a-punch & tucked it under the flowers. There are a couple of 2022-24 In Colour matte decorative dots added to finish the card.

For the final card I chose Berry Burst for the first matte & embossed it with the star/flower folder. On the Basic White matte there is a Lemon Lime Twist matte embossed with the dotty folder. The floral bouquet was a collection of fussy cut flowers adhered with glue dots. The sentiment is from the Artfully Layered stamp set & stamped in BlackBerry Bliss. I used the Tailored Tags punch & added some Magenta Madness ribbon & some 2022-23 In Colour enamel dots to complete it.

I loved creating these cards & will be using them to send to customers with the new catalogue. In my Mid Week blog on Wednesday I will be CASEing some of the cards using the Beautiful Balloons suite & some more of the new colours. Next Sunday's blog I will feature a beautiful card kit called Saying Thanks. There will be cards made using the directions as well as some alternatives. I hope you can join me for both of them.

In last week's blog I mentioned that I would be busy crafting when the blog was posted. Oh My Goodness I had so much fun! There were many projects to create & I wasn't able to complete them all on the day but I will post pics of the creations each week starting with this one....

This is a faux double step card made with Night of Navy, Basic White & Hues of Happiness DSP. I also stamped some flowers from the Happiness Abounds stamp set & used a water colour brush on the second step. There's lots of lovely cards left to show & if you come back each week you'll get to see them all.
