Forever Fern Christmas cards
Hello & welcome to my blog,
If this is your first visit, I hope you enjoy it & come back again. If you are returning, welcome back & thank you!
This week I am using one of my all time favourite stamp sets - Forever Fern - but I've used it to create some beautiful Christmas cards instead. I've used some old and new products in this weeks cards but you can always pop in what you have on hand or the more current product from the catalogue. Hope you like my creations.
Each card uses a different leaf stamp from the set & gives a unique finish. I've purposely kept them quite simple so that they are quick & easy to create. The colours are traditional green, red & white but could be re-recreated in any colour scheme you choose. I have used one embossing folder & die cut on the red card but the rest is simply stamping & embellishing.
For the first card I just stamped straight onto the card front to create a simple wreath. I stamped in Evening Evergreen for the leaves & Real Red for the sentiment. The 'berries' are little red resin hearts to tie in the 'Love' from the sentiment which comes from the Delivering Cheer stamp set in the Mini catalogue. Inside there's a tiny piece of the same foliage on Basic White with an Evening Evergreen matte behind.
The second card uses the same colours but the front and inside mattes have been run through the embossing machine using the Greenery Embossing folder as it closely resembles the sprigs of leaves that are stamped on the front. This time I stamped the sentiment in Black & I added a little bling with some Wonderful Gems.
My final card has a little more WOW factor as I stamped the sentiment from the Merriest Moments stamp set directly onto the Real Red matte, added a gold embellishment from the forever Gold Specialty DSP & some stamped & die cut leaves over the top. The leaves were stamped in Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz and give the card a slightly softer finish than the darker greens. To finish off I added some Snowflake Splendour ribbon from last Christmas as it has just a little sparkle to complement the gold in the fern.
As I have said a few times (sorry), Forever Fern is a really beautiful & versatile stamp set. I think it was the first one I bought when I joined Stampin' Up! I hope you enjoyed looking at different ways to use the same stamp set to achieve different types of cards. Some of the stamps used today are from the current Mini Catalogue which will be finishing up at the end of the year so if you're interested in purchasing them you'd best be quick. You can find them under the Last Chance section of the shop I've put an asterisk next to them below so you know which ones they are.
I hope you enjoyed this week's blog & find time to come back next week too. Don't forget that I also have a mid week blog where I highlight different techniques, layouts or tips & tricks. This weeks focus is on making gift bags. Hope you can make it.
Next week I will be spotlighting one of the new stamps from the January - June Mini catalogue that is available from 4th January. It's called Hello Ladybug & is simply adorable. Can't wait to have a play around with it!
If you would like me to send you a catalogue please send me a message on my FaceBook page at Crafted by Alison. There's only a couple of weeks left of the current Mini Catalogue & there are retiring products on special. Visit my online store to see what is in the clearance section or message me for a list of all the retiring products so you can grab a bargain (or 10!)
If you would like to order any of the materials I used in today's cards I've popped some links down below for you that go directly to my Stampin' Up shop.
If you would like to buy any of the cards I show in my blogs they are available in my shop on FaceBook as well or you can message me to check if they are still available.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the cards and come back for more. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
