Hello & welcome to my blog,
If this is your first visit, I hope you enjoy it & come back again. If you
are returning, welcome back & thank you! I hope you all got to spend some
time with loved ones for Christmas. I had Christmas lunch at my house with my
Mum (93 not out!), my family & my husband's family plus my niece. Crazy
busy during the week finishing getting ready for the big day & crazy at
times on the day but so worth it as we don't get many opportunities during the
year to all be together. The busy week meant that I've only got 2 cards to
show you today, but they're super cute. 😁
For my last regular blog for 2021 I am showcasing one of the new stamps &
punches from the Jan - June 2022 Mini Catalogue. It is such an adorable set
& is very versatile. I can imagine lots of different ladybugs & lots
of different occasions for this set. Here's what I came up with this week just
by playing around a little with one of my new favourite sets.
For my first card I decided to 'case the catalogue' & created a version of
the Stampin' card featured on page 20 of the Jan - June '22 Mini Catalogue.
Their card features reds & pinks but
Fun fact as there are over 5000 different
species of Ladybugs/birds/beetles in the world & lots of different
colours, I decided to create a sunnier version.
The matte is Mango Melody & the flowers are stamped in Pale Papaya,
Bumblebee, So Saffron & Daffodil Delight, stamping off to give even more
colours. The Ladybugs are Pale Papaya too. For the sentiment I chose a
contrast of Coastal Cabana in both cardstock & ink & popped the strip
of Ladybugs up on some dimensionals. The sentiment is die cut using the
largest of the square dies from the Stitched Shapes dies. A nice simple card
to get started.
For the second card I decided to be a little more creative and also
incorporate my Mid Week blog technique which shows different ways to use
sponge daubers. More details are coming up in Wednesday 29th Dec's blog. I
chose Night of Navy for the base to make the card front pop & co-ordinate
with the flower in the corner which I've then filled in using the retired Seaside Spray on the sponge dauber. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz but some are double
stamped or stamped over a blended background so appear darker. I also popped
up one leaf (in two sections) for a 3D finish. This also makes the Ladybug
appear to be buzzing between the leaves.
I really enjoyed playing with this new stamp set which will be available from
4th January 2022. I'm also looking forward to trying a few more designs with
this. It's a cute friendship set but also would be perfect for little people's
birthdays.
So a nice quick blog today to finish the year but don't forget my Mid Week
blog where I show the Sponge Dauber techniques & tips.
I hope you enjoyed this week's blog & find time to come back next week
too. Don't forget that I also have a mid week blog where I highlight different
techniques, layouts or tips & tricks. This weeks focus is on how to step
up simple cards to more detailed cards. Hope you can make it.
Next week I will be spotlighting one of the new stamps from the January - June
Mini catalogue that is available from 4th January. It's called Eden's Garden
& is stunning. Can't wait to have a play around with it!
If you would like me to send you a catalogue please send me a message on
my FaceBook page at Crafted by Alison. There's only a couple of days left
of the current Mini Catalogue & there are retiring products on
special. Visit my online store to see what is in the clearance section or
message me for a list of all the retiring products so you can grab a
bargain (or 10!)
If you would like to order any of the materials I used in today's cards
I've popped some links down below for you that go directly to my Stampin'
Up shop. The Ladybug bundle is not available to purchase until the 4th Jan
so I can't provide a link yet but if you'd like to purchase the stamp
& punch at 10% off from that date you can go directly to my store via
the shop with me link & use the product number 157699.
If you would like to buy any of the cards I show in my blogs they are
available in my shop on FaceBook as well or you can message me to check if
they are still available.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the cards and
come back for more. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX
Alison
