Bottles of fun & flowers

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog features the brand new Bottled Happiness stamp set & co-ordinating Vintage Bottle punch from the new Annual Catalogue. These can be used on their own, together or with the 3D Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes. I've tried each combination for this blog. I hope you like the results.

The first two cards are similar as they both feature a bottle as a vase but one is stamped & the other has a shaker dome to make it 3D.

Orchid Oasis is the main colour for my first card with a DSP matte added to the base. I stamped a small bottle in Starry Sky & some flowers & leaves in Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party & Orchid Oasis then diecut it using the Contoured Scallops dies. The greeting is also stamped in  Starry Sky & I used the smallest label die from Stitched So Sweetly & added it to the front of the bottle. The final touch was some Garden Gems & a tiny Parakeet Party metallic ribbon bow.The gems pick up the blue & green inks perfectly.

The second card is very similar to the first. The base & DSP are Tahitian Tide & there is a Contoured Scallops centre piece but then there are a couple of changes. I started the front piece by punching out the bottle shape. The flowers & leaves were stamped in Tahitian Tide & Parakeet Party then I took one of the Vintage Bottle shaker domes & coloured it using a Tahitian Tide blends & a sponge dauber directly onto the plastic. After removing the cover from the tape on the bottle I stuck it down inside the hole & added some Effervescent Elements. A scrap piece of Tahitian Tide was adhered to the other side of the bottle to keep all of the pieces safely inside. Dimensionals were added to raise it up on the card front. The greeting was stamped with Stazon black ink onto vellum & diecut using the tiny tag from the Hydrangea dies. I added another tag in Tahitian Tide & an Old Olive shimmery ribbon bow before raising them with some dimensionals. A couple of the Blue Adhesive Backed gems finished off the card.

If you're a Monty Python fan like me you'll get the next line.......
And now for something completely different!

I wanted something a little more masculine & created this slimline card & a bottle tag using the bottles. The card base is Gray Granite & has a piece of Basic White embossed with the Time Worn Type embossing folder. I wanted some glasses to go with the 'wine' bottles but didn't have anything like it until I came across a stamp set from a few years ago called Varied Vases. I simply stamped a vase outline in Balmy Blue, sponged inside it & fussy cut them. When turned upside down they look just like wine goblets!

So of course I needed a couple of bottles of wine to go with the glasses. They were stamped in Melon Mambo & So Saffron. The wine bottle labels were stamped in Crumb Cake & Early Espresso. I stamped another bottle in Whisper White on some Merry Merlot cardstock for the bottle tag & used the bottle outline & White embossing powder to accentuate it a little before punching out all of the bottles with the punch. The sentiment was stamped & embossed with White embossing powder & then fussy cut for both the card & tag. I finished both of these off with some Matte Decorative dots.

The idea behind this bottle tag is that a gift bottle with this tag & card would be a quick & easy gift for a wine lover.

There are so many other ways of using the stamps but that's all I have for this post. I hope you enjoyed my creations. If you decide to create any of your own I'd love to see them so please feel free to head over to my FaceBook page at craftedbyalison & post a pic there.

That's all I have for this post. On Wednesday I am creating using colours from a colour challenge & next Sunday's post has some lovable animals from the Count on Me stamp set.  I hope you can join me for both of them.
