'Brewing' up some masculine cards.

Hello & welcome to my blog & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I hope you all had a lovely time welcoming the New Year in. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog has some masculine cards made with a new stamp called Brewed For You. There are beer & wine stamps so I also used the Bottled Happiness stamp set which ties in nicely with a bottle.

The first card I created has a mug of beer as the focus & features circles. There isn't any bling on this card as I used some different products to create the froth of the beer.

On a Basic White card base I added a matte in Bumblebee cardstock then another using Butterfly Kisses DSP. I used two different sizes of the Stylish Shapes dies. I stamped the beer mug image in Gray Granite & the beer in So Saffron before I diecut it.

To create the froth I used two different materials. The top of the mug is retired Jolly Felt but you could use any felt. I simply cut & adhered a small piece of Adhesive Sheets the size of the die piece to the back of the felt before running it through the embossing machine. The adhesive sheet makes it easier to adhere to the cardstock plus it doesn't leave any evidence of glueing that you sometimes get with liquid glue.

The droplets of foam were created using Snowfall Accents puff paint which is on the retiring list. This is the first time I've used this product & I really like how easy it is to use. You simply pop a dot onto the cardstock then use a heat gun similar to how you would when heat embossing. The difference is that the puff paint raises up heaps more than the embossing powder.

I was careful with the placement of the image on the Bumblebee circle to ensure there was enough room for the sentiment. As there was plenty of detail with the froth I decided that no more embellishments were needed. To finish off the card I did 2 mattes inside that matched the front & added a Basic White matte with an empty mug.

The second card was a hybrid of different stamp sets. It was inspired by a Pinterest post by Christin Rocha.

I started with a Basic White card base that had 1cm trimmed off of the right side & added a matte of Crumb Cake. I then used Gray Granite to stamp some wine glasses in various orientations on some Basic White. I stamped 2 more glasses & added some Merry Merlot 'wine' to them before die cutting. The bottle of wine is actually from the Bottled Happiness stamp set as I preferred the shape of it rather than the one in the Brewed for You stamp set. This was then punched out with the Vintage Bottle punch. The last part of prep work was cutting out some Stylish Shapes circles in Merry Merlot, Evening Evergreen & Crumb Cake plus a few leaves in Evening Evergreen.

So onto the assembling. I attached the stamped card front to the Crumb Cake then wrapped a piece of Evening Evergreen Chevron weave ribbon around it before attaching it to the card base. I played around with the placement of the circles & images until I was happy with them then used glue dots in 1, 2 or 3 layers to give depth to the grouping. Some of the images were also liquid glued down. A few pretty sequins from the Artistry Blooms pack for the front & some matting on the inside & the card was finished.

That's it for another week. Thanks so much for stopping by. If you would like to order any of the supplies I used today you can head over to my Stampin' Up® shop using the links below. Please note that there are some supplies I used this week that are not available any more as they are retired stock. That doesn't mean you can't recreate your own version of these cards though! Just swap out the retired items for whatever you have in your stash.

I hope you have enjoyed my creations today & can join me again on Wednesday when I will be sharing with you how to cut 6x6" DSP to create lots of cards with minimal wastage. In next week's Sunday blog I have a super cute stamp set to share that is FREE during Stampin' Up®s Sale-a-bration period. It starts on the 5th January & coincides with the release of the beautiful new Mini catalogue, full of gorgeous new products. I hope you can join me for both of them.

If you would like to purchase any of my creations that I feature in my blogs they can be found in my FaceBook shop at craftedbyalison or you can or order something unique.

If you would like me to send you a Mini catalogue or the Annual catalogue then please message me via my FaceBook page, Crafted by Alison or send me an email at craftedbyalison@gmail.com.
