Introducing the wonderful & versatile Colour and Contour!
Hello & welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog features a new stamp set for me from the latest Stampin' Up® catalogue. While this stamp set was in a previous catalogue I have only just purchased it. I've seen so many wonderful projects made with this stamp set & dies that I had to get my hands on it & create something as well. I hope you like the collection that I've made.
I started with a small thank you note card. I used a triangle of Friendly Hello DSP & stamped some of the larger flowers in Pumpkin Pie, Pale Papaya, Bumblebee & Mango Melody. These gorgeous flowers were then die cut with the Scalloped Contours dies. I adhered them along the line of the triangle & added a sentiment in Tuxedo black. To finish off I added some Matte Black dots.
For the next card I chose a slimline design. The beautiful DSP matte is a piece of Hand Penned DSP which I mounted on some Highland Heather cardstock. I stamped the long bloom in Memento Black ink & So Saffron & hand coloured the stem & leaves with an old Stampin' Up colour, Call me Clover. I backed this with a piece of Mint Macaron then added some silver epoxy gems & some tri-colour purple ribbon.
The final card was super easy to make. On a Basic White card base I added a matte of Black cardstock then a piece of Beautifully Penned DSP. I added a smaller matte of Black then one in Real red & angled them slightly. On a piece of Basic White I stamped a bloom in Melon Mambo & Black &n used the little splatter stamp to add a different element. After stamping the sentiment I added some Artistry Blooms sequins. I love the contrast of the Red, Black & White!
One of the things I love about crafting, in particular with using Stampin' Up® products, is that it's so easy to mix old and new products like I did with these cards. The colours intermix & carry through to future catalogues. All of the DSP & embellishments used in these cards are retired, (except for the Matte black dots) many of it free with Sale-a-bration offers, but it can still be used well into the future with continuity of colours across all products. If you have any old DSP then grab it out & make some new projects! I had so much fun creating this week & I hope you enjoyed checking out my creations. I would love to see any creations you might have made using this stamp set so please feel free to pop over to my FaceBook page, craftedbyalison, & post a pic.
That's it for this week. Thanks for popping in. My next Mid Week blog on Wednesday shows you how to create a corner fun fold card. Next week's regular blog features the gorgeous Waves of Inspiration stamp set. I hope you can join me for both of those.
