Seaside Bay creations

  Hello, welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! 😍

This week's blog is the first one I've published for a few weeks. If you are a regular to my blog you will know that about a month ago my Mum, who is 94, had a fall, ended up in hospital & subsequently had a hip operation. All went well for the first few days then she took a big nosedive & is now in palliative care.
This meant that I suspended my blogs to spend as much time with her as possible. All of our care & attention has helped to restore her health enough that I have returned to work, making cards & am hopeful that with some physio she may be able to leave her bed.

Thank you for returning to my blog. I hope you enjoy what I have for you today!

This week I am showcasing a beautiful new suite from the Jan to July '23 mini catalogue called By The Bay. It has the Seaside Bay stamp set & dies, ribbon, embellishments & stunning 6" x 6" By the Bay specialty DSP. Here are 2 cards I've created so far....

I LOVE how they have turned out! Part of their beauty is the DSP which has a pearlised effect as well as foiling but the stamps & dies make the whole creation sync.

The first card was quite simple to put together.

I used Sahara Sand for the base & added a piece of DSP as the backdrop. I diecut some grasses from Sahara Sand & Crumb Cake & stamped them with speckles using a sand pattern stamp & also added the speckles to the strip on the DSP that looked like a sandbar. The waves in the foreground were created by simply cutting around the pattern on another piece of DSP which then had dimensionals attached. The Sandpiper & her chicks were stamped in Soft Suede & Cinnamon Cider. To create the variegated colouring I simply used water painter to spread the stamped ink. I used a combination of glue dots & dimensionals to give all of the birds a 3D effect & added some enamel Pebbles around the birds. the sentiment was stamped directly onto the DSP & a couple of Elegant Faceted gems finished off the card.

The second card is a fun fold.
The base is a piece of 21 x 14.8cm Sahara Sand & is scored at 10.5 & 15.75cm. I stamped some shells & sand speckles on the base & used a mixture of White, Clear & Gold embossing powder to create a few pearls which I think turned out really well. The centre front panel was diecut using the Deckled Rectangles dies. It has a matte of Night of Navy then a matte of DSP. Some Petal Pink twine was wrapped around the mattes before adhering to the front panel. An oyster shell was stamped tone on tone on Sahara Sand & an adhesive backed Pearl was placed in the centre. Inside the card is a cardstock matte, DSP matte then a Basic White matte for the sentiment & writing space. All the mattes were diecut with the Deckled Rectangles dies. To finish off the card I added a couple more of the pearls.

I really enjoyed creating with this suite. There are so many more ideas I have but they will have to wait for another day. That's all I have for you this week. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared with you. My next post is for my mid week blog on Wednesday when I will be showing you some ways to care for & clean your stamps. Next week's post will be a unique lattice design that was shared by Brandy's cards. I hope you can join me again for both of these posts.

If you would like to purchase any of my creations that I feature in my blogs they can be found in my FaceBook shop at craftedbyalison or you can or order something unique.

If you would like me to send you a Mini catalogue or the Annual catalogue then please message me via my FaceBook page, Crafted by Alison or send me an email at craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Until next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
