Creating with the Saying Thanks card kit

 Hello, welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! 😍

This week I have created some lovely cards using one of Stampin' Up®'s card kits. I used the Saying Thanks kit & followed the suggestions for the first 3 cards then created using some of the products from the kit to create fresh designs to show you just how versatile the kits are. They are a great way for people who want quick & easy cards or as a starting point to kick start your inspiration.

Here are the finished cards...

This kit is such a happy, vibrant kit & can be used in so many different ways. I love it. I will be gifting it to some friends as well as I know they will love creating with it & will love the finished cards.

To start off, let's look at how the kit comes & what's included.

This is the packaged kit with the instruction sheet. The instruction sheet takes you step by step (with pictures) through the construction of each card. As Stampin' Up® caters to many countries and languages the picture steps make it easy for anyone, anywhere to create.

It is a no stamp kit so it comes with everything you need to create 9 cards!

I created the first 3 cards by following the instructions in the pack.

Easy peasy & beautiful to look at, or receive.

The next 3 cards I mixed things up a little to show the versatility of the kit. I also used a mix of retired, current & brand new products. I'm not sure about you but I love buying new products but sometimes need to make a concious effort to use up some of the older products!

Top left: I used the base from the love hearts card & added a Thank You sentiment backed with a (retired) Grapefruit Grove matte diecut with the (retired) Layering Circles dies. I used a piece of the new Petal Pink ribbon from the Ribbon duo combo pack through which I threaded a tassel from the (retired) Best Dressed Tassels. Quick, simple but very pretty.

Top right: I used the heart stencil from the same card instructions to create something totally different for this one! Starting with a Basic Black base I added a Berry Burst matte. I chose a piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP to adhere behind the heart stencil & added it to the base. The sentiment was then attached to a piece of Berry Burst scrap & added to the card. The little hearts you see are left over diecuts from a card I created last year. It used the (retired) Detailed Hearts dies & some silver glitter cardstock. These were added to the inside of some of the hearts & also under the sentiment. Another quick & easy card.

Bottom: I had the most fun with this card. 😁 As the card base had lots of rainbow splotches on it I decided to use that as the focus for the card. Using (retired) Merriest Frames, (retired) Home together & Artistic dies I diecut shapes that looked similar to the splotches in Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Gorgeous Grape & Tahitian Tide. I then adhered them behind the 'Merci' sentiment  & mounted it on the card base. I used some of the square sequins to add a little bling & the card was finished. Such a quick way to create a pretty card & also use up scraps!

So far that makes 6 cards all up. Here's what was left after the 6 cards were finished.

There is still plenty of product left to create more cards but that will be for another day.

I loved creating these cards & will be creating more to send to customers.

Next week's Mid Week blog is based on a Colour Challenge which I haven't done for a while now. I love colour challenges because they take you outside of the colours you use regularly, the ones you might be a bit biased towards and help you to see the value of colours that are not loved as much. Next Sunday's blog features a brand new stamp set with matching dies called Rhino Ready. It's a super cute bundle that is only available in my online exclusive store. I hope you can join me for both of them.

In last week's blog I posted the first of many cards that were created during the Online Stamping Retreat I attended a couple of weeks ago. Here is the 2nd card, a Pop Up/Tuck In fun fold. This fun fold was created by Lisa Curcio.

My take on Lisa's fun fold features beautiful (retired) Symbols of Fortune DSP. The flowers are stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon & were coloured using SU700, SU800 & Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends® as well as the Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Write® marker. They were then diecut with the Flowers of Home dies. The (retired) Pool Party grosgrain ribbon perfectly matches the cardstock base. I also used a couple of the 2020-22 In Colour enamel dots to finish the card. I will feature this fun fold in another blog later in the year.
