Mid Week blog #103 - Online Stamping Retreat creations.

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.

A few weeks ago I attended an online stamping retreat held by Kylie & Bruno Bertucci from Australia & Lisa Cursio & Gina Hawley from America. This was the fifth retreat I had attended &, as always, it didn't disappoint. Today I have 3 lovely creations to share with you but there are loads more to share in future blogs. There are 8 different designs that are taught but a total of 32 cards in total! All of these are part of a 300 page document that is yours to keep for life! I have the 4 previous online retreat documents saved on my laptop & refer to it whenever I need some ideas or want to have some fun crafting. I hope you like what I have to share with you today.


These first 3 pics are of a single bridge fold card made with the Bee Mine Suite of Bee Mine stamp set & dies plus the gorgeous Bee My Valentine DSP. The hive was made with Daffodil Delight cardstock using an oval die from my old Creative Memories cutting system. There are 2 partial ovals, one underneath & the other sliced into 1.5cm pieces & layered over the other after being daubed with some Pecan Pie ink. A Pecan Pie circle was created using the All That dies for the entrance to the hive. The cute little bees were fussy cut from the DSP. I glued the bridge slightly in from the edges of the card base which meant that the bridge pops up a little too high for a standard envelope. So of course I had to make a box to put it in!


The second card is the same Single Bridge design but I used the Share a Milkshake stamp set & dies to create an icecream for the centre piece. It is backed on some Crumb Cake cardstock & Most Adored DSP that is a Sale-A-Bration item, only available with qualifying purchases until tomorrow, 29th Feb! The stamped ice-cream colours are Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo & Sweet Sorbet. The diecut cone is also Crumb Cake but sponged with some Pecan Pie ink. I love the little cherries which are Sweet Sorbet with Garden Green stalks. I then added a cute little bow made with Flirty Flamingo Bakers Twine to finish.


My final card is called a Twisted Easel fold. The base is Lemon Lime Twist with Zoo Crew DSP. The cute little racoon and balloons are hand coloured using Stampin' Blends & Stampin' Write markers. The racoon was fussy cut from the DSP and the spare balloons were partially stamped from the Zany Zoo stamp set & also hand coloured. They were then mounted on Lemon Lime Twist, Lemon Lolly & Pumpkin Pie circles created using the Deckled Circles dies. This one looks tricky but it's just about scoring & cutting in the correct areas. Measurements make all the difference.
