Midweek blog #135 - Creating with Enamel Effects pt 2

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.

Today I am continuing on with last week's technique using enamel paints called Enamel Effects. There are two three packs of enamel paint - one in basic Red, Black & White & the other in metallics. This week I share two cards with accented images. It was fun playing around with the different colours & creating some unique images. I hope you enjoy what I have created for you.



For the first card I stamped some leaves in Granny Apple Green & a butterfly in Copper Clay. Over the leaves I spread some White Enamel Effects & over the butterfly I spread Gold Enamel Effects. This gave a subtle sheen overall. 

The base of this card is Basic White, then there is a Copper Clay matte & lastly there is a layer stamped with leaves in Granny Apple Green. Before adhering the two mattes down I wrapped some Cinnamon Cider ribbon & tied a bow. The accented images were then popped up with dimensionals.

The second card has a little more Enamel Effects techniques.

 I created some 'berries' using the Red Enamel Effects on a silicone matte. These were left to dry for a few hours to ensure they were solid.


To create the bird I stamped it in Stazon ink then used Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Daffodil Delight & Poppy Parade Blends to colour him in.


This then had a layer of Gold Enamel Effects over the body with the berries left coloured for the enamel dots to be placed on. 


For the card itself I used Copper Clay for the base & Basic White for the matte. I blended some Garden Green in the centre as a backdrop for the Garden Green frame made with the Winterly Treetops dies. These three pieces were layered over each other before adding some extra sprigs of leaves & twigs & the bird on dimensionals. I glued the berries straight onto the twigs, including the one in the birds mouth. 
The sentiment is heat embossed in copper, fussy cut then adhered with dimensionals.

This was such a fun way to create different elements on cards & to spotlight particular areas or images.
