Midweek blog #135 - Creating with Enamel Effects pt 2

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.

Today I am continuing on with last week's technique using enamel paints called Enamel Effects. There are two three packs of enamel paint - one in basic Red, Black & White & the other in metallics. This week I share two cards with accented images. It was fun playing around with the different colours & creating some unique images. I hope you enjoy what I have created for you.

For the first card I stamped some leaves in Granny Apple Green & a butterfly in Copper Clay. Over the leaves I spread some White Enamel Effects & over the butterfly I spread Gold Enamel Effects. This gave a subtle sheen overall.

The base of this card is Basic White, then there is a Copper Clay matte & lastly there is a layer stamped with leaves in Granny Apple Green. Before adhering the two mattes down I wrapped some Cinnamon Cider ribbon & tied a bow. The accented images were then popped up with dimensionals.

The second card has a little more Enamel Effects techniques.

I created some 'berries' using the Red Enamel Effects on a silicone matte. These were left to dry for a few hours to ensure they were solid.

To create the bird I stamped it in Stazon ink then used Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Daffodil Delight & Poppy Parade Blends to colour him in.

This then had a layer of Gold Enamel Effects over the body with the berries left coloured for the enamel dots to be placed on.

For the card itself I used Copper Clay for the base & Basic White for the matte. I blended some Garden Green in the centre as a backdrop for the Garden Green frame made with the Winterly Treetops dies. These three pieces were layered over each other before adding some extra sprigs of leaves & twigs & the bird on dimensionals. I glued the berries straight onto the twigs, including the one in the birds mouth.
The sentiment is heat embossed in copper, fussy cut then adhered with dimensionals.

Here's a closeup of the card...

This was such a fun way to create different elements on cards & to spotlight particular areas or images.

So that's it for my feature on creating with Enamel Effects, I hope you enjoyed it.

My next blog is on Sunday & I will be creating with the pretty & delicate Spotlight on Nature stamps & dies. It's the one used in the first card today.
Next week's midweek blog focusses on blending using just the one colour to create a unique background.
I hope you can join me for both of them.

Til next time, take care & keep creating. XX Alison
