Mid week blog#171 - CASEing the catalogue with the Sweet Blooms bundle

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.

In this midweek blog I have CASEd some cards from the Stampin' Up® catalogue. To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything/Everywhere & it is when you re-create something based on an item already created. When you CASE you also acknowledge that it is not your original work & state where you copied it from.

CASEing is a great way to get your creative juices flowing when they are low, give you new ideas or to simply create something that you love. They also work well if you have a lot on. This week I am on camp with the Grade 4's so wanted something quick & easy to create ahead of time. When this goes to air I will be wrangling around 75 9 & 10 year olds at dinner time! 😳 Wish me luck!! 🤣

Today there are 3 cards that are basically the same card but in three different colour ways. They were super easy to re-create but look stunning. The cards are on page 45 of the 2025-26 Annual Catalogue.

Here are my re-creations...

All three of the cards follow the same principle - solid colour base, DSP the same size as the card front, 14.85cm x 10.5cm, with a 2.5cm score & fold, a raised shadow sentiment & small stamped sentiment.

The first card uses Summer Splash for the base & the DSP co-ordinates beautifully. The sentiment is stamped in Petunia Pop & the shadow sentiment uses Secret Sea.

The second card uses Darling Duckling for the base with a lovely co-ordinating pattern on the DSP. This time the sentiment is stamped in Timid Tiger & the shadow sentiment is Strawberry Slush.

The final card uses Timid Tiger for the base with pretty pinks & mauves for the floral pattern. The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green while the shadow sentiment is Petunia Pop.

Here is a closeup of the fold & the raised sentiments.

With these cards the DSP does all the hard work so there's no need for any embellishments. These cards were really quick & easy to make, ideal if you need a few cards quickly. The most difficult part of re-creating these cards was pairing the shadow sentiment!

So that's all I have for you this week. I hope you've enjoyed this simple but DSP fun fold from the Stampin' Up® catalogue.
My next blog is on Sunday & I have some alternative creations using the supplies from the  gorgeous Beautiful Blues kit that was featured in last week's Sunday post.
In next week's mid week blog I will be sharing some tips on how to use scraps in your projects.
I hope you can join me for both of them.
Til next time, take care & keep creating. XX Alison
