Alternative creations with supplies from the Alpine Air kit

 Hello & welcome.

My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia.

For those of you who have previously visited my blog & are now returning, thank you. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome!

Here's a little bit about me. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP and Wednesday evenings when I highlight a technique, fun folds or tools & tips. I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or suggestions & my email address for that is craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Stampin' Up® have many ways of shopping with a physical catalogue, online shopping & in person events. When items are about to be retired or are running low they are put on the 'Last Chance' list which means that there is limited stock & when it runs out, it's gone.

In last week's post I created 3 cards using the Alpine Air kit. Using supplies from the kit & extra materials from my stash I have created 6 additional cards to show you how easy it is to use a kit as a starting point. I hope you like them.

So, I made 6 additional, alternative cards with the supplies from the kit plus a few extra bits & bobs from my stash. The kit has supplies to create 9 cards in total but there are still more supplies left for creating so I will get more than 9 cards when I use the other supplies. Here are the cards, one by one to show you what I used. All are simple designs, just using the supplies in a different way.

The first card has a kit card base, turned to landscape with one of the mountain scenes & a Night of Navy rectangle, diecut with the Deckled Rectangles dies (retired) & has a sentiment from the kit, embossed in white. I then added a couple of Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls which are on the Last Chance list.

The next card uses another kit card base plue one of the larger mountain scenes backed with a Night of Navy matte that is diecut with the Textured Notes dies. The sentiment is also from the kit & stamped directly onto the mountain scene in Night of Navy ink. This time the embellishments are Iridescent Faceted gems.
So, onto card number 3...

Card number 3 uses a kit card base & the same mountain scene from card number 2 but I have diecut it  in half this time with the Deckled Rectangle dies & adhered the 2 pieces directly to the base. A Night of Navy rectangle, again made with the Textured Notes dies, has a white embossed sentiment from the Round We Go stamp set & is then raised on dimensionals. The pearls this time are from the Adhesive Backed Pearl trio, which is also retired.

Cards number 4 & 5 are the same style & have the same mountain scene but just use some different materials.

Card number 4 uses a green kit card base this time with the mountain scene diecut into three pieces. This is then backed with a Shaded Spruce matte, also diecut with the Deckled Rectangles & adhered directly onto the base. The sentiment is on another Shaded Spruce rectangle with the sentiment from the kit stamped in Shaded Spruce on one of the sentiment labels from the kit. The embellishments this time are Holographic Resin dots.

Card 5 is the same layout, 3 strips of the mountain scene but it is backed this time with a Night of Navy matte on a kit card base. The sentiment is from the kit, stamped in Night of Navy on one of the kit circles but is then backed with a Boho Blue Deckled Circles (retired) diecut. Some Silver trim (just retired!) is attached behind it before raising it on dimensionals. The final touch are some Basic Gray & Smoky Slate pearls.

My final card is the only one to use a card base not from the kit. I decided on a Basic White funfold base.
The base is 1/2 a sheet of A4 & is scored at 9.5 & 16cm.
The front panel has a Night of Navy matte & another of the mountain scenes. The centre panel is left blank & the inside panel for writing on is a Deckled Rectangles Basic White matte, backed with some gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP as the pattern matched beautifully.

Here are comparisons of the cards made using the instructions from the kit & my alternatives...

and my alternatives...

There are simple changes to the cards but it shows you how easy it is to create something just a little unique to you by swapping things around or adding some different elements.

That's all I have for you today. I hope you've enjoyed this journey into alternatives made with a kit.

One thing to note though is that this kit is on the Last Chance List so if you want to grab one before they are gone, head over to my online store.

Well, that's if for my creations. I hope you enjoyed this fun & easy way to create & come back next week to see what other cards I create with the remaining supplies & a few extra materials.

Now it's time to share some news & information from Stampin' Up®.

Stampin' Up® 's Annual Catalogue is sectioned it to have beginners, which is a step by step collection of materials in kits, then there is quick & easy where you select base materials & packs of pre-printed or diecut materials plus some stamp sets then there is create your way where you choose all the materials, stamps etc yourself & create your way! In the quick & easy section Stampin' Up® have also provided some inspiration with a colour wheel & information of various ways to use colour combinations. I explored this in a bit more detail in my 1/1/25 mid week blog & also in 30th April blog. The other cool feature is that they provide card sketch & scrapbook layout ideas for you. This is great for any times that you need a little inspiration.
If you'd like to browse the new catalogue online then click here. If you'd like a copy to hold in your hands, leaf through & put little notes all over it of what's on your wish list then shoot me an email at craftedbyalison@gmail.com or message me on my facebook page at craftedbyalison.
The mini catalogue is only a few weeks away & will be launched in September! There are loads of gorgeous new products in there, I've been lucky enough to preview the catalogue as all demonstrators get early access to the catalogues & products. There's scrapbooking ideas & products, great tag dies & lots of Christmas themed products ranging from cute to elegant & traditional to modern. If you'd like me to send you a copy then send me an email at craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Stampin' Up® also have loads of additional products available only online. These are called Online exclusives & have no end date, when the stock is sold out, that's the end of it.

Stampin' Up® have a great range of other Kits including crafting, card making & gift giving. There were brand new kits added to the collection every month. Click here to check them all out in my online shop. As Stampin' Up® have so many beautiful kits available I usually feature a different kit in each blog so that you can see the range.

This week the feature kit is called Handmade & Heartfelt. It's a kit with a difference. When you make up this kit you will have a handy desk caddy to put the 10 cards you make from the kit plus room for other writing needs such as pens & stamps.

Here's how Stampin' Up® describe it...

The Handmade & Heartfelt Kit proves that the art of writing a personal card is alive and well. So slow down and enjoy creating with peek-through cards, layering pieces, sentiment stamps, and a built-in organisation station to help you make, sort, and send cards with ease. Share handmade joy from one convenient box and turn every card into a heartfelt connection.

If you feel that you need to add this to your list then click here to purchase one from my online store.

If you shop with me then there are some new changes to the rewards program that you should know about. In the past we were able to create a host code & group together individual orders & pass on the 'hostess' benefits to customers with qualifying orders. This has now been replaced with a 'Rewards' program that gives all customers who place an order with a qualifying amount a credit of 10% of their order to use on future orders. This will be displayed during the checkout process or your order. Stampin' Up® feel that this is a fairer way of rewarding all customers.
