Tidings & Trimmings

Hello & welcome to my blog.

Another busy week with work but WOOHOO! we're out of lockdown! Able to catch up with family & friends, going out for a sit down coffee or meal, so many positives & everyday events that you take for granted until you don't have them. Happy to have my little luxuries back. ๐Ÿ˜

The cards I have for you today are made with the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp set & the Christmas Trimmings dies. I also incorporated my Mid Week blog technique, Splatter backgrounds, into the 3 cards. I have snuck in a card made with the Sweet Little Stockings stamp set as well as I used the splatter DSP for it too. Here they are........

The first card was made with a Granny Apple Green base. I cut a strip of the splattered DSP & matted it on some Poppy Parade. I stamped some Poppy Parade stars & the sentiment straight onto the DSP with some Evening Evergreen ink. I added some Gold Specialty paper to the card front before adding some stamped & die cut images. These were made with Granny Apple Green card & ink, Poppy Parade card & ink & Granny Apple Green on Basic White & die cut with the Stockings dies.

My second card used a piece of the splatter DSP on Poppy Parade but with a different orientation. I added some striped DSP from the Sweet Stockings pack. I die cut some stars in gold Specialty paper which give a lovely sparkle to the card. Not all of them are completely stuck down to give a little 3D effect. The sentiment was stamped in Evening Evergreen & die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies (one of my favourites in case you hadn't already noticed! ๐Ÿ˜‚) & mounted with some dimensionals.

For my final card I wanted to have something a little different. I searched through Pinterest & saw a beautiful card made by Valley Inspirations with Andrea & had to CASE it!

Isn't it gorgeous? I started with a Balmy Blue card base, adding a Basic White front which I had coloured using Balmy Blue on the Blending Brushes. I splattered Gray Granite & Night of Navy then stamped some stars in Balmy Blue & Night of Navy. I wanted some pretty sparkle so I die cut the stars from the Christmas Trimmings dies in Glitter card & Vellum. As the stars have such an intricate design I used some of the Stampin' Up Adhesive Sheets  before cutting them which made sticking them down so much easier. All I needed then was a sentiment in Night of Navy, die cut with the Stitched Rectangles & mounted with a bow that I made with the Playing With Patterns 1/8" ribbon. I absolutely love the blues in this card & the simple but busy starry night kind of effect. I hope you love it too.

And that's it for the cards for this week's blog. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed creating them. Next week I will be creating with the Pansy Patch Stamp set & the matching Pansy dies. These are just so exquisite. I can't wait to share them with you.
