Cutest Pets, Sweet Little Stockings

Hello & welcome to my blog,

If this is your first visit, I hope you enjoy it & come back again. If you are returning, welcome back & thank you! I've had a super busy week this week. We had an excursion at work which was a little tiring but loads of fun then from Thursday night til Saturday afternoon it was Stampin' Up's On Stage event where demonstrator's achievements are recognised & the new brochures are unveiled. WOW, it was a great few days & I got to see some amazing card making presentations, new materials & play around with some of next years goodies. More about that later in this post though.

Firstly, this post is all about Christmas & cute little pets. In a previous post I gave you a sneak peak at some Christmas cards & gift packaging that featured some of the cute animals from the Sweet Little Stockings stamp set & Sweet Stockings DSP but also included items using other DSP & stamps. Today's cards are made just with the 'Stockings' stamps & DSP.

The first card was featured in this week's Mid Week Blog Series #5 as it has an envelope fold as it's main feature.

I can just imagine stockings like these hanging in some homes just for their beloved pets!

Here are some more detailed snaps of the layout of the card.

The main part of the  card base is a tri-fold card & the front point pops into the holly detail at the bottom. The main colours are Cherry Cobbler & Basic White. I stamped the stockings & pets onto Basic White & Crumb Cake, hand coloured with Stampin' Blends then diecut them with the Stocking Dies. The pine sprigs are stamped in Old Olive & the holly is die-cut from scraps of Evening Evergreen & Real Red. There are more details about how I made this card on Wednesday 10th November's Mid Week Blog.

The second card I made was super simple with just a couple of cuties peeking out of some hidey holes on the card.

For this card I simply die cut some circles from the Sweet Stockings DSP using the Stitched Shapes dies as well as stamping & diecutting the animals on Soft Suede cardstock using the Sweet Little Stockings stamps & Sweet Stockings dies before sticking them over the holes in the DSP. In the larger hole I stamped the sentiment from Words of Cheer then finished the card with some Genial Gems.

My final card showcases one of the adorable pets in a sparkling vellum frame.

The card base is Soft Succulent & the Basic White matting has been embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. I used some Soft Succulent In Colour Shimmer Vellum for the frame, made using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder. The vellum has a wonderful sparkle to it that doesn't show up clearly in the photo. For the stocking I wanted a simple design so that the pup would show up well so I coloured in a few small areas then added a piece of Cajun Craze for the heel of the stocking & also for the ears of the pup. I stamped the sentiment in the same colour & cut a strip of Cajun Craze cardstock to matt it on. I didn't feel there was any need for extra bling on this one.

These really were such fun to make this week and they also gave me some more cards to add to my shop & my personal Christmas Card stache. Next week should be a little quieter & I will have the cards I made during the On Stage event to show to you. Some of them were made with some new products from the Jan - June Mini Catalogue which will be available to order from in just a few more weeks! There's some gorgeous stuff coming up so I hope you can join me again next week to share it with me.

If you would like me to send you a catalogue please send me a message on my FaceBook page at Crafted by Alison.
If you would like to order any of the materials I used in today's cards I've popped some links down below for you that go directly to my Stampin' Up shop.
If you would like to buy any of the cards I show in my blogs they are available in my shop on FaceBook as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the cards and come back for more. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
