Perfectly Pretty Pansy Patch fancy fold

Hello & welcome to my blog,

If this is your first visit, I hope you enjoy it & come back again. If you are returning, welcome back & thank you!

This week I have some truly beautiful flower cards to show you designed using the Pansy Patch stamp set & co-ordinating Pansy dies with a little bit of the pretty Pansy Petals DSP.

The main card I wanted to show you is a fancy fold I made earlier this year for a work friend. There's not a lot of stamping as I wanted to create the gorgeous Pansies with the dies & I also wanted to try out a fancy fold I had been eager to recreate from many designs I'd seen on Pinterest & the internet.

Here's an aerial and open view of the card.

And here are two side views of the finished card. The right view shows the space where the square folds through.

Starting with a 21 x 14.8cm card base, line the corner of the long side up at 9 cm on a paper trimmer and cut from 1.5 cm down to 9 cm. You then turn 90 degrees, line the edge up at 5.5cm and cut from 9cm up to 1.5 cm. Lastly, you score the card at 10.5 cm to fold the card base in half.
To create the corner fold, gently pull the top right hand corner back to the centre score line & burnish the two diagonal corners with a bone folder. This will now give you a square in the centre that can fold back......
or remain folded at the front of the card.....
The matting of the card was achieved with some Fresh Freesia cardstock & Pansy Petals DSP. the Pansies on the front were diecut with the dies from the Pansy Dies in Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather & Gorgeous Grape. The leaves are made with Garden Green & Pear Pizzazz.
I stamped the sentiments in Gorgeous Grape & matted the inside sentiment on some Garden Green.
I love the way it turned out.

My next two cards were made with a combination of stamping & DSP but there was no die cutting this time.

The pretty pink & purple card on the left is stamped using the stamping-off technique. I stamped the speckled stamp using 1st stamp colours of Polished Pink & Blackberry Bliss. I then used the stamp that gives you the solid part of the flower using the same colours but stamped on scrap first before stamping over the darker colour. I will go into this in more detail in a future mid week blog. The yellow centres are Bumblebee with just a smidge of Daffodil Delight for the very centre. The beards of both pansies are Blackberry Bliss. I used Evening Evergreen & Soft Succulent for the leaves.

To create the 3D effect of some flowers being behind others I used the masking technique that I highlighted in my mid week blog on 3rd November. The DSP is Pansy Petals & the matting on the front & inside is Polished Pink.

The final card is a combo of stamping & DSP. I used Evening Evergreen & Pale Papaya for the matting, Pansy Petals DSP & added just a touch of bling with some more of the Artristy Blooms sequins. The pansies this time are Purple Posy (sadly, retired 😞), Gorgeous Grape, Bumblebee & Pale Papaya. The leaves are the same as the previous card.

I've loved re-visiting the Pansies for this week's blog. Next week I have some super cute animal cards made with the Sweet Little Stockings Stamp set. My mid week blog on Wednesday will feature a fancy fold. I will be creating 3 different types of Envelope cards! Hope you can come back for both of those.
