Getting Creative with Create with Friends

Hello & welcome to my blog,

If this is your first visit, I hope you enjoy it & come back again. If you are returning, welcome back & thank you!

In this crazy lead up to Christmas it's easy to forget to find time to connect with friends & loved ones as you rush to get organised for Christmas, finish off projects that 'have' to be finished before deadlines & attend all of the end of year functions & get togethers. Today's cards are designed to be ready to send quickly and allow you to let people know that you're still thinking of them in this busy end of year time.

There are two cards today that showcase the beautiful script of the Create with Friends stamp set. I went with pretty pastels in mauves & greens & the cards have a delicate feel to them.

My first card is what friendships & relationships are based on - Love. It could be used to celebrate friendship, acknowledge the loss of a loved one or to celebrate an engagement or birth. For the card base I used delicate Fresh Freesia, topped with a layer of black & then some hand coloured DSP from the Beautifully Penned papers that I received during Sale-A-Bration. To colour in the flowers & leaves I used sponge daubers to add Fresh Freesia & Granny Apple Green. For the sentiment I used Memento Tuxedo Black & punched it out with the Double Oval punch. For a little bit of detail I zig-zagged some of the retired Playing With Patterns Purple Posy ribbon under the raised sentiment & finished with a couple of Matte Decorative Dots. Just a quick reminder - the Matte Decorative Dots are retiring soon so if you like them then you'd better order some before they go!

For the second card I wanted something very simple to compliment the simplicity of the stamped sentiment. I started with a Mint Macaron base & cut a different design from the Beautifully Penned DSP at an angle. I used the sponge daubers again to add some Highland Heather to the petals of the flowers but used an Aqua Painter to add Mint Macaron to the leaves & Mango Melody to the centres of the flowers. To finish off I simply added some pearls under the sentiment which I had stamped straight onto the card base & to a few of the flower centres. A lovely, simple card to share with a friend.

I hope you enjoyed this week's blog & find time to come back next week too. Don't forget that I also have a mid week blog where I highlight different techniques, layouts or tips & tricks. This weeks focus is on using belly bands. Hope you can make it.

Next week I will be re-visiting one of my all time favourite stamps - Forever Ferns to create some Christmas cards. I tell you, this stamp set is a must have!

If you would like me to send you a catalogue please send me a message on my FaceBook page at Crafted by Alison. There's only a couple of weeks left of the current Mini Catalogue & there are retiring products on special. Visit my online store to see what is in the clearance section or message me for a list of all the retiring products so you can grab a bargain (or 10!)

If you would like to order any of the materials I used in today's cards I've popped some links down below for you that go directly to my Stampin' Up shop.

If you would like to buy any of the cards I show in my blogs they are available in my shop on FaceBook as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the cards and come back for more. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
