Hello and welcome to my blog.
If this is your first visit, I hope you enjoy it & come back again. If you are returning, welcome back & thank you! This week I have a stamp set for you that is FREE during the Sale-A-Bration period. This promotion was meant to finish at the end of February but due to issues over the last few months with distribution (damn that COVID!) Stampin' Up® have kindly extended it for a few more weeks. I've loved creating these cute cards for you this week. They can be used for all age groups too which makes it extra versatile. Hope you love them too!
For my first card I wanted to try out the new Decorative Masks that are in the mini catalogue. I've seen a few people using them & they've created some stunning cards so thought I'd combine some flowers with the butterfly stamps from the set. It turned out so soft & pretty, I'm really glad I had a play with the masks.
I started with a piece of Basic White & used two small strips of Washi tape to keep the mask in place while I added some colour. I used each colour separately, adding 4 or five flowers in one colour with a blending brush before moving onto the next. The next step was to stamp directly over the flowers using the same colours then colouring them with Stampin' Blends for more impact. I then trimmed it & mounted it on some So Saffron cardstock. This was a little darker than the Daffodil delight but made the colours pop more.

Ink & Blends colours used were Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, Blushing Bride, Purple Posy & Pumpkin Pie.

To finish I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue, fussy cut it out then backed it with Balmy Blue cardstock. I adhered a piece of Daffodil Delight ruched ribbon behind then mounted with dimensionals. I also added just a few rhinestones because a little bit of bling is nice. |
My second card was actually the first one I made with the stamp set! This card featured in my mid week blog to show how to create a collar fold card. Details of how to make it are in my blog of 2/3/22. The colours I used were all taken from Stampin' Write markers after stamping the images with Memento Tuxedo black. I also used a grey Stampin' blends to highlight the netting. The cardstock is Granny Apple Green & the DSP is Friendly Hello which is free with a matching stamp set when you spend $180. Here's the Collar Fold card.....
And here's the two cards together
Both of these cards show you how easy it is to create beautiful cards with free products! If you're looking from some freebies & are in need of some regular crafting supplies then now would be a perfect time to browse through one of the Stampin' Up® catalogues. I've popped some links below for some of the products used in these cards that will take you directly to my Stampin' Up® shop.
That's it for another week. I hope you enjoyed my creations. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you can come back for my Mid Week blog which is looking at a design I know as Book Binding. A very simple but different way to create a unique card. Next Sunday's blog will be looking at another Sale-A-Bration freebie that will appeal to those who are a little older or who love cute cars - Driving by.
