Cute little critters you can count on

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog features the cute stamp set Count on Me. There are a variety of animals including a Koala & a Kiwi! You don't get many of the 'Down Under' animals in stamp sets so I've used the Koala in one of my designs. Here are the cards I created using some of the stamps from this set.

The first card I made was created as a gender neutral 1st Birthday card. The gorgeous little penguin is stamped in Gray Granite then coloured in with Gray Granite Stampin' Blends. The balloons were also coloured with Magenta Madness, Pale Papaya, Just Jade & So Saffron blends. I added the stamped images to a piece of So Saffron which had been die cut with the scalloped die from the Scalloped Contours dies. These were then added to a Soft Sea Foam card base. The sentiment was stamped in Gray Granite, fussy cut & backed with some Mint Macaron cardstock & fussy cut again. The '1' is stamped in Memento black & could be easily changed with any other number from the Family Party stamp set. Super cute & fun to colour in.

The next card is pure Aussie! I was so pleased when Stampin' Up included some Southern Hemisphere animals in this stamp set so I had to have a play with the Koala stamp.

I had a piece of Old Olive that had been diecut with the Layering Circles dies as well as a Basic White circle so I decided to combine the two. With a Soft Sea Foam as the base, I added a layer of Old Olive then a piece of the Friendly Hello DSP. I stamped the Koalas in Smokey Slate & coloured them with the Gray Granite Stampin' Blends. I used the masking technique to stamp some leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set in Old Olive around them. The sentiment was stamped in Memento black & shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch. I also backed it with of the same DSP. A few dimensionals behind it & the card is finished. A quick & easy card for someone that needs a little boost.

The final card is all about love & friendship. The bear, stamped in Early Esspresso, is just adorable holding the heart in it's arms. I wanted to focus on love as the theme for this card so I only coloured the heart with Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends & added a little grass under the bear using Parakeet Party. I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut out the bear & a matte in Old Olive. The sentiment is stamped in Memento black, shaped with the Banner Pick a Punch & backed with some Old Olive also die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. I added a Poppy Parade heart made with the retired Stitched Be Mine dies to tie it all together. Both of these pieces were then added to some DSP from the Daffodil Afternoon pack, a Poppy Parade matte & then a Basic White card base.

There are still lots of lovely creatures to show you from this stamp set but they will have to wait for another blog.

That's all I have for this post. I hope you enjoyed my creations. If you decide to create any of your own I'd love to see them so please feel free to head over to my FaceBook page at craftedbyalison & post a pic there.

On Wednesday I am creating using the new Annual Catalogue for inspiration by Casing the Catalogue. Next Sunday's post features a stamp set I have already shown you, Hello Ladybug, but this time I'm focussing on the flowers instead of the Ladybugs.  I hope you can join me for both of them.

If you would like to order any of the supplies I used today you can head over to my Stampin' Up® shop using the links below.

If you would like to purchase any of the cards I feature in my blogs they can be found in my FaceBook shop at craftedbyalison.
