Mid Week Blog #35 Colour Challenge

Hello & welcome to my Mid Week blog,

Thanks so much for stopping by. My Mid Week blog is designed to be shorter than my Sunday blogs so that I can share techniques, card design or other tips and tricks with you. I feature projects that can be created for beginners & can also be stepped up for a fancier or more detailed item.

In this blog I'm using a colour challenge combination from Vickie Lou Designs Creative Colour Challenge #39. The colours are Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party & Old Olive.

I had some lovely Hand Penned DSP from the 2021-22 Annual Catalogue that perfectly co-ordinated with 2 of those colours - Flirty Flamingo & Pool Party. It's such pretty paper & I haven't used much of it so I set to work creating this feminine card with Flirty Flamingo matting & Old Olive ink & ribbon.

The beautiful floral background didn't need much else so I stamped some flowers & leaves using the Friendly Hello stamp set & coloured them with Stampin' Blends in Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party & Old Olive. Some leaves were stamped directly onto a Basic White circle, others were fussy cut along with the flowers & attached to give a 3D look. The circle was then mounted on some Pool Party to tie in with the flowers. I added a swirl of Old Olive shimmery ribbon behind the circles & popped a couple of Polished dots in the centres of the flowers. Some dimensionals raise it all up. I love that DSP has done most of the work in this card. 😁

I hope you've enjoyed this colour challenge. If you enjoyed this Mid Week blog then remember to come back on Sunday as I've got a cute stamp set called Count on Me to share with you.
In next week's Mid Week blog I'm casing a card from the new Annual catalogue as there are some beautiful creations all the way through and I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you.
Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
