Irresistibly beautiful Blooms

 Hello, welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! 😍

This week's post is NOT one for the boys! Irresistible Blooms is a stunning bundle that has a stamp set & co-ordinating die set that makes beautiful floral focussed cards with some extra little oomph features in the dies which will be featured in a future blog. There is stunning DSP & some gorgeous frosted dots that complete the suite. These products are only available online. Here's a link to my online shop if you'd like to check out what's available. I hope you enjoy my creations.

Now most of the credit for these beautiful cards goes to the gorgeous DSP. That's what I started with & I built the card around the colours in the design.
I've used a few different techniques to create these cards. They both have a split cut front with cardstock diecut using label dies from Deckled Rectangles & Scalloped Contours. These were separated & the DSP adhered behind. The missing section was used for other projects. The flowers were created with a combination of stamping, adding colour with blending brushes, using a sponge dauber directly onto the stamp & also daubering (is that a word?) onto the stamp & stamped image.

For the first card I used Flirty Flamingo for the card base & Pale Papaya ink for stamping directly onto the split front with a cute spotted image. The flowers are a combination of Flirty Flamingo & Pale Papaya. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz. I coloured some Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blend® & wrapped it around the front of the card prior to adhering it to the base. I used the Beautiful Shapes dies for the sentiment & backing but fussy cut the flowers & leaves (the Irresistible Blooms dies were in another part of the house & I was on a roll!). The backing for the sentiment is embossed with one of the new Basics 3D embossing folders. I love this pack of 3 folders & I'm sure you'll see it pop up a lot in future blogs! I didn't mount the sentiment but I did add some dimensionals to the blooms. The final touches were some Loose Frosted dots & From My Heart faceted gems which match the colours of the DSP & co-ordinate nicely together.

The second card uses the same colours & techniques but in a different combination. This time I used Flirty Flamingo for the spotted image & Pale Papaya open weave ribbon. I also added a piece of Basic White to the back of this card front as it was diecut directly from the card base rather than a second matte as in the first card. I'll have more info about the split card technique in a future blog.

I love how the cards evolved as I worked on them & I love the colours I was able to incorporate thanks to the variety of colours used in the DSP. Don't forget that Stampin' Up® is having a colour refresh in the new catalogue & both Pale Papaya & Pear Pizzazz are being retired. If you want these colours in your stash the good news is they are discounted but you need to get in quick as retiring colours sell out quickly. Pear Pizzazz still has some cardstock available at the time of this blog but the ink has sold out already!
I have included a link for the Mini catalogue Last Chance items here and a link for the Annual Catalogue Last Chance items here.

Well that's it for another week. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this post. My next post is for my mid week blog on Wednesday when I will be sharing with you how to make a cigar box.

In next Sunday's post it's all about citrus with the Sweet Citrus collection. There are so many different types of citrus fruits that can be created with this stamp set but I also have a different idea I want to try out so I hope you can come back to see if it worked out! There are gorgeous stamps & dies in this collection which I'm sure you'll love but it also comes with a hybrid embossing folder. I can't wait to show you what I make! I hope you can join me again for both of these posts.

HOT NEWS:

  1. Just a reminder that Stampin' Up® will be launching their new Annual Catalogue in just a few short weeks! I've had a look at it & boy, there is some gorgeous stuff in there! There will also be a new mini catalogue launching at the same time. Stampin' Up® have changed their catalogue launch times to have both the Annual & Mini launch at the same time. This gives you more time to browse without wondering when the next catalogue is due!
  2. They have also announced that they will be having a 'colour refresh' which will include not only the new In Colours but a change up of the regular colours in the range. There are also some old, previously retired colours returning so if you held on to a favourite colour but are running low, here's your chance to grab some more. I have seen the new colour collection & just quietly, it's amazing! And yes there are more blues. Yippee!!
