Hello & welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.
Today I have created a card using a new stamp set from the Online Exclusive products called Rhino Ready & basing it on Colour Challenge f#69 from Stamp With Nellie. The challenge colours are Parakeet Party, Balmy Blue & Basic Grey.
So, onto the card.

I started with an Early Espresso card base & added a DSP matte from the Like An Animal pack that was in the January - April '23 Mini Catalogue. I layered a matte of Balmy Blue next before adding a Basic White matte that I had blended Parakeet Party & Balmy Blue on to create a land & sky effect.

The detail that was added was achieved by die cutting some grass, tree & foliage using Early Espresso, Parakeet Party & the Rhino Ready dies. I blended some Parakeet Party onto the green parts as well as some Evening Evergreen over the tree foliage. The tree foliage was raised slightly with some mini glue dots. The Rhino was stamped in Basic Grey. I then used a sponge dauber to add extra colour & I coloured the Oxpecker bird on his back in Balmy Blue. This was added to the card with some glue dots & dimensionals. The last part of the card was to add a sentiment stamped in Basic Grey & sponged around the edges before adhering with glue dots & dimensionals. I chose this sentiment as I will be sending it to my niece who had surgery this week.
I loved using this colour challenge & love the card. If you decide to create something using this colour challenge then please feel free to post a pic on my Facebook page at craftedbyalison.
Just a reminder that the brand new Annual Catalogue which went live last week! There are so many lovely things to see in the catalogue so
here's a link to have a look for yourself.
So that's it for this week's post. My next post is on Sunday & will feature more creations made with this stamp & die bundle. Next week's Mid Week blog features a fun fold for you to try out. I hope you can join me for both of them.
Thanks so much for stopping. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
