Hello, welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! 😍
This week's creations were so much fun to make using the Little Monkey stamp set & punch. This stamp set is perfect for baby cards, baby showers, small children's birthdays or even great fun for 'big' kids who love a fun card.

The first card was created during an online Mystery Stamping session with Nancy from Nancy's Nifty Notes. Nancy very kindly provides a free Mystery Challenge each month where you craft along with her & fellow craftees using step by step instructions. It's lots of fun & I always create something lovely with her clues. Plus, I end up with a free card design idea!
I started with a Soft Suede card base in the portrait position. There are then 3 rectangular pieces of DSP from Zoo Crew & Celebrate Everything with Early Espresso mattes. The tree limb & greenery are stamped with Soft Suede & Old Olive then coloured with Granny Apple Green & Soft Suede blends plus a little Soft Suede Stampin' Write marker. All were fussy cut.
The bananas were punched from Lemon Lolly cardstock & the detail was stamped in Early Espresso.
The Monkey was stamped in Early Espresso & coloured in with blends. I stamped the sentiment with Soft Suede then punched it out using the 2 3/8" punch, matting it with DSP & Early Espresso diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies. To get the different 3D effects I used a combination of
glue dots &
dimensionals. To finish off the card I added some retired Resin Hearts. Super cute & a lovely unique design.
The second card needed some more height as I wanted to use a number of monkeys this time. I started with a Crumb Cake base & a Basic White matte. I then used a strip of the beautiful retired Ever Eden specialty DSP which I blended with some Garden Green ink. This matte & strip was not adhered until the rest of the scene was ready.

Now this card took a lot longer than most of my cards because of the details in the scene. First I stamped some large leaves directly onto the matte using Garden Green then coloured them in using Shaded Spruce, Just Jade, Garden Green, Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write markers. I blended some Garden Green over the top to give a 'jungle' feel. The smaller leaves were stamped in a combination of Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz & coloured with Pear Pizzazz,Old Olive, Garden Green & Granny Apple Green markers. These were all fussy cut as were the monkeys that didn't suit the punch. The monkeys were stamped in Early Espresso & coloured with Soft Suede, SU700 & SU800 blends.

Then to the fun part of assembling the scene! I arranged all of the leaves, the branch & the monkeys as I wanted then carefully used glue to adhere the monkeys together along with glue dots for the rest of the scene. Some leaves & the branch were placed behind the DSP strip. This gives a little 3D effect to the picture. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso with the last part of it "Hi" masked then diecut with a small Stitched Rectangle. I knotted a piece of green twine to the sign & threaded it over the tree branch, leaving it loose to swing. If you look back at the first two pictures you can see it in two different positions.
The inside Basic White matte was then stamped with 2nd & 3rd generation stamping & the continuation of the greeting. Of course I also stamped a few leaves on the envelope. 😁
These cards were so much fun to create but they do require fussy cutting if you don't stamp the scene directly onto your card.
And that's it for this week's creations. Thanks for joining me.

In previous blogs I posted the pics of some of the cards that were created during the Online Stamping Retreat I attended in April. Here is a video of the last of the creations so far....
As the design is a flip & slide card I chose to use a video instead of pictures to show it better.
My next blog is on Wednesday where I will feature a starburst design. In next week's Sunday blog I will show you some 3D box creations. I hope you can join me for both of those.
Well, that's it for another week. I hope you enjoyed this post & come back for more next week. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison.
