Hello & welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP.
This week I am featuring a stamp set that has been featured here before but now I've teamed it up with some new masculine Designer Series Paper to create some quick & easy cards, mostly for the boys. I hope you like them.
I used a few basic cardstock colours that complimented the new Gone Fishing DSP along with some new & old embellishments. I'll take you through them one by one as they start out super easy & have little additions to make them a little more interesting.
The first card is simply DSP matted onto Early Espresso. I stamped Happy Birthday directly onto the DSP with Early Espresso & Soft Suede, first & second generation to allow for more variety in the ink colours. I used a Stamparatus to make it a little easier to have the sentiment lined up corretly. I added some 2023-25 In Colour dots to the corner & the card was finished. Clean & simple & very quick.
For the second card I started with a Very Vanilla base, added an Early Espresso matte then a matte of DSP. I then diecut some hexagonal shapes in Early Espresso & Very Vanilla, stamping the sentiment of the Very Vanilla then adhered the Early Espresso directly to the card & raised the Very Vanilla on some dimensionals. Again, a very clean & simple, quick card.
Next I stepped it up a little. On a Starry Sky base I added a Pebbled Path matte then a slightly smaller DSP matte which has a diecut removed. This has some Braided Linen trim wrapped around was adhered to the card base. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso before diecutting it slightly smaller than the one in the DSP. This was then raised on dimensionals & placed in the aperture of the DSP. At first glance it looks like the sentiment has a matte behind but looking again you see that it is raised. I now have a diecut piece of DSP ready for another card! As the DSP is rather busy I decided not to add any other embellishments leaving it clean & simple but with a braid feature.
The final card probably has the most detail. The base is Basic White & the DSP is the reverse of the first card. As it is a lovely neutral blue pattern I decided to make it a card that could be used for a wedding, engagement or new baby. On a Night of Navy Stitched Rectangles diecut I added the sentiment, stamped in Night of Navy & diecut with the Something Fancy dies. The little flower to the left is one of the dies also. Super cute addition. I then wrapped a piece of Glittered Organdy ribbon around the left edge before raising it on dimensionals. The final touch was to add a few of the last of my 2012-23 In Colour jewels. Still quite simple to create but with more WOW this time.
All in all it took a little over an hour to throw together these creations from deciding which DSP, co-ordinating the cardstock to adding the final embellishements.
I loved creating something a little different with this stamp set & was very happy with how quickly I could create them.
I hope you've enjoyed this post & it inspires you to create some clean & simple creations using what you have. If you do I would love to see what you create so please feel free to post a pic on my facebook page at craftedbyalison.
