Mid Week blog#111 - Stampin' Up® April Colour Challenge

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.

Today's blog will be a quick one as it's based on using combinations of colours. Every month Stampin' Up® post a Colour Challenge to help motivate everyone to mix & match colours, often inspiring people to use combinations or colours that they wouldn't normally use. Stampin' Up® set the challenge that you choose 3 to 4 colours of your own choice this month. For today's blog & have chosen Calypso Coral, Pebbled Path & Coastal Cabana.

On Sunday I created with the Timeless Arrangements bundle & one of those cards is also featured in today's blog.  The card has a Pebbled Path base, Coastal Cabana DSP from the Softly Stippled pack & all three colours including Calypso Coral for the foliage & ribbon. A more detailed description of how I made the card is in my blog here.
To showcase the colours in a different way I chose to use Stampin' Blends© & uncoloured DSP, colouring parts of the DSP only. I intend to stamp a sentiment & back it with one of the focus colours & some cute dies before I use it on a card base.
I really enjoyed this challenge & these colours. To be honest I probably wouldn't have teamed these colours together if it hadn't been for the challenge so I guess their goal was achieved!

That's it for this week's blog. I hope you enjoyed looking at using colours from a colour challenge. If you haven't tried a colour challenge before, I encourage you to give it a go. If you decide to give it a try I would love to see your creations so please feel free to pop over to my facebook page at craftebyalison & share your pics. My next blog is on Sunday & I will be using a super cute suite called Just Kiddin' then my next mid week blog shows you how to use the Spotlight technique. I hope you can join me for both of them as I think you'll love them!
Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
