Mid Week blog#113 - DSP as the focal point of a card
Hello & welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies & sometimes special DSP. My second blog is mid week on a Wednesday where I look at techniques, colour challenges, card sketches, fun folds, tools & equipment & ways to make or improve your projects. That's what this blog is about.
I love DSP. All of the pretty colours, the designs & especially when it comes in a specialty pack with foil or embossing. Unfortunately, like many other crafters, I tend to hold on to it as it's too beautiful to use. Then it sits there not being used & not being shared with other people. So this week, I pulled out the last of some beautiful DSP that I hadn't been brave enough to finish & design two lovely cards with it. Here they are, I hope you love them!
For the second card I used Mossy Meadow for the base, added an embossed matte then some DSP. For a little bit of interest I added some Pale Papaya woven ribbon. The sentiment is also from Good Morning Magnolia & was backed with Petal Pink. Both were diecut with the Deckled Circles dies.
To finish off both of these cards I added some Champagne Rhinestone jewels. I love the elegance & prettiness of these cards & will be using the very last of the DSP for more cards.
That's it for this week's blog. I hope you enjoyed this post & will pull out some of your own DSP & share it with others. If you decide to create with your DSP I would love to see your creations so please feel free to pop over to my facebook page at craftebyalison & share your pics. My next blog is on Sunday & I have some beautiful creations for you made with the Painted Lavender stamps, dies & DSP. Next week's mid week blog will feature a fun fold. I adore creating fun folds as they give you the opportunity to create something special that has a little WOW factor. I hope you can join me for both of them as I think you'll love them!
