Tranquil thoughts creations

 

Hello again & welcome back. 

I have some simple but stunning cards to share with you this week. I worked with the Tranquil thoughts stamp set & the Tranquil dies but used them differently to what I've previously shared with you. 

My first card I CASED from the very talented Kylie Bertucci....


Kylie had showcased the Tranquil thoughts & Tranquil dies earlier this year & gave me the inspiration for this card. I used Gorgeous Grape for the card base & embossed a piece of Highland Heather for the layer using the Old World Paper embossing die. I rubbed the card stock with Perfect Medium then heat embossed that in gold. I embossed a smaller piece of Highland Heather but reversed the embossing & adhered it on a piece of Gorgeous Grape. I used a die from the Tranquil dies & stuck it under & over the smaller square & mounted that onto the card. I fussy cut the sentiment which matched the centre piece & mounted that also. It's a different technique but I like the way it's turned out.

  

For the second card I die cut some Granny apple green using the corner die & before partially glueing it down I stamped some greenery around the other edges to give it a jungle type feel. I used Basic Grey for the sentiment to give it a slightly softer finish. The inside pops with a double layer of Granny Apple Green & white with a continuation of the stamping inside. I love the fresh crisp feel of this card.

The rest of the week was spent completing the 80th birthday order from last week & getting ready for the wedding. Such a beautiful wedding it was too. 💝

As Easter is next weekend I thought I'd use Chocolate themed stamps for my blog next week. I'll be highlighting the Nothing's better than... stamp set & the matching Love you more than... die set. The set features 3 of my favourite things... Coffee, Chocolate & Cocktails!! I'm sure to enjoy creating this week. 😁

Peaceful Poppies gift set

 Hello everyone & welcome back to my blog! Well, we made it through the floor installation & have put back about 2/3's of our furniture. I looks so much better & was worth the inconvenience. I am looking forward to when all the sorting, culling & placement of furniture & goods is all over so that I can get back to making cards. I've been kept occupied but I've missed creating. Anyway, here's some pics of a card set I made for a friends birthday using the Painted Poppies stamp set. I used Just Jade, Pretty Peacock & Real Red for the main card stock & added in some Granny Apple Green & water colours for the flowers. There are 5 cards using various DSP from the Poppy Parade collection with matching envelopes. Good Morning Magnolia!

 Hello all & welcome back. This week has been crazy busy! We've nearly finished packing up most of the house in readiness for the new flooring plus Mum's quick stay in hospital ended up being an 8 day stay! There wasn't much time for crafting unfortunately 😞 but I promised some Good Morning Magnolia cards so I looked back over some of the cards & gifts I've made in the past year & found quite a few. Here's a special selection for you..... This card is the first one I made using the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set & I still love the way it turned out. I used a spritz with green ink for the background & hand coloured the image. Being one of the earliest cards from when I first started using Stampin' Up products, the colours are not unique to SU but work well for the card.    This next card was something a little different that I wanted to try. Today's blog is all about making a card using a Tic Tac Toe themed challenge. Using the grid below I looked back over my creations & found a very special card I had made for a workmate to give to his niece. I would normally make a new card but this week has been rather challenging with my Mum being hospitalised. We weren't sure whether she'd make it but with lots of fluids & exceptional care from the staff at her nursing home she looks to be on the mend.
