Mid Week Blog #26 Card Sketch #3

Hello & welcome to my Mid Week blog.

Can you believe it's been 6 months since I included a mid week blog to my regular Sunday blog? I was so nervous when I started my original blog 18 months ago but I feel I've grown more confident & learnt a lot about blogging, crafting & time management since then. If you've been following me from the start then thank you so much for hanging in there. I will continue to try to bring you new & interesting projects that are also easy to do.

My mid week blog is designed to be shorter than my Sunday blogs so that I can share techniques, card design or other tips and tricks with you. I feature projects that can be created for beginners & can also be stepped up for a fancier or more detailed item. I hope you enjoy this weeks design which is a Card Sketch. I get inspiration for these sketches from lots of different sources. Sometimes it's Pinterest, FaceBook or simply a member of my Stampin' Up® team.

I made 2 cards using the same sketch to show you how different a card can be simply by changing a couple of things. Here's the sketch I started with......

And here are the cards I made.....

For the first card I simply used some of the new 'New Horizons' DSP & added some matting & the little birds stamped in the corner.

For the second card I used the Plentiful Plants stamp set, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP & Perfect Plants dies. I added some cute Pebbles enamel shapes & added some extra leaves on dimensionals for some extra detail. This was such a super easy & quick card design & could be adapted to create so many different types of cards. I hope you give this one a try. If you do, please feel free to pop over to my FaceBook page & post a pic, I'd love to see what you make.

That's all I have for you this week. On Sunday in my regular blog I will show you what I created using the On the Horizons stamp set from the brand new Annual catalogue! It's such a lovely catalogue with so many gorgeous stamps, dies, papers & brand new In-Colours. I goes live at the beginning of May but demonstrators can get early access so we can create & show to you!
Next Wednesday for my Mid Week blog will be showing you how to make an accordian card. I hope you can come back to see both of those blogs.

Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
