Hello & welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create some beautiful ocean themed cards using the Lighthouse Point stamp set. I have 2 cards to show you today. I hope you like them!

These two cards a similar but I've tweaked them a little to give some variety.
The first card is a clean & simple card using 3 main colours with a splash of Daffodil Delight for the light beam. After I'd completed both cards & uploaded them to this blog I thought to myself, hang on, shouldn't that light ray be facing the other way??? Ooops, I guess next time I'll know better & have it pointing correctly! I still like the cards though as they depict a peaceful seaside moment.
But, getting back to the creation of the card..... The base is Misty Moonlight & the matte DSP is from the Sweetest Christmas pack. I chose it because the red stripes really go nicely with the red stripes of the lighthouse. I stamped off Seaside Spray once for the lighthouse then added the stripes in Poppy Parade. The sentiment & birds (from Waves of Inspiration) are in Memento black with the (backwards) light beam stamped in Daffodil Delight. For a little bit of extra detail I added a few Rustic Metallic dots & wrapped Misty Moonlight ribbon around the bottom before adhering it to the base.
For the second card I decided on a bright splash of Daffodil Delight as the matte. I embossed it with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder to give a little extra depth to the background. On Basic White I really went to town with the ink colours! The rock is stamped in Soft Suede with some Garden Green around for vegetation. The sea is coloured with blending brushes & I used Pacific Point & Bermuda Bay. For the sky I used two different blues - Balmy Blue & Seaside Spray & added some clouds in Seaside Spray as well. The lighthouse is stamped in Gray Granite and for the stripes I used Real Red. The sentiment is stamped in Gray Granite & I punched the ends with the Banners Pick a Punch to create a small banner. To add a little detail I grabbed some spare brown Grossgrain ribbon to add behind the sentiment. Lastly, the seagulls from Waves of Inspiration are stamped in Memento black.
I love presenting my finished creations with matching envelopes so here's a pic of how the cards will go out.
That's it for another week. Thanks so much for stopping by. If you would like to order any of the supplies I used today you can head over to my Stampin' Up® shop using the links below. Please note that there are some supplies I used this week that are not available any more as they are retired stock. That doesn't mean you can't recreate your own version of these cards though! Just swap out the retired items for whatever you have in your stash. But on a brighter note, some of the products are reduced so be quick & check them out in my store before they're all gone!
I hope that you've enjoyed this week's blog & will join me again on Wednesday when I will be sharing how to colour DSP to create quick cards. In next week's blog I have some super cute forest friends cards made with the Happier than Happy bundle, a stamp set, matching dies & gorgeous DSP. I hope you can join me for both of them.
If you would like to purchase any of my creations that I feature in my blogs they can be found in my FaceBook shop at craftedbyalison or you can or order something unique.
