Sale-a-bration's Adorable Owls

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. Today's blog has some gorgeous little owls as the focus. This stamp set is FREE right now during the Stampin' Up® Sale-a-bration sale between January 5th & February 28th 2023. There are lots of gorgeous stamp sets & DSP on offer when you spend either $90 or $180. The Sale-a-bration catalogue complements the new Mini Catalogue that also launched on January 5th & has some amazing products in it. These cards were made using one of the stamps from the Sale-a-bration catalogue & some Butterfly Kisses DSP from my mid week blog. I hope you like them.

These 3 cards were mentioned in my mid week blog on Wednesday as they used 6x6" DSP & how to cut it for easy card making. Lets start with the card on the left.

This fun fold is like a secret message card. But it also is a regular card so it's a mish mash. For the flap fold on the front of the card I used a 4cm x 28.8cm piece of Fresh Freesia, scored in half. A matte of Butterfly Kisses was added to both sides. Before glueing down I placed the flap & stamped a sentiment  from Slim Sayings on some Basic White under where the flap will cover it. To the right of this I stamped some greenery from Quite Curvy in Parakeet Party & sponged some Soft Sea Foam to fill it with a little more colour. I then glued the flap on the reverse side. To ensure an even surface for glueing I added some scrap strips of DSP on either side of the flap. If you prefer you could use a regular card fold, trimmed by about 4cm & cut away the two sides to create the flap. The card front was then attached to a Fresh Freesia card base.

To decorate the front flap I diecut some Parakeet Party using the Stitched Rectangles dies. I glued this to the flap after stamping a sentiment from Adorable Owls. The Owl was stamped in Gray Granite & coloured with Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Pineapple Punch, Balmy Blue & Gray Granite Stampin' Blends. I attached him to the rectangle & some 2021-23 In Colour Jewels were added. The inside of the card has a matte of Butterfly Kisses DSP then a Basic White matte with an owl stamped in the corner.

The second card was a lot more simple. I embossed a piece of Parakeet Party with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder & attached it to a Basic White card base. Using a Terracotta Tile rectangle & one of the DSP pieces I coloured a different owl with Seaside Spray, Pineapple Punch, Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink & skin tone Blends. He was raised with some dimensionals. The sentiments are from the Adorable Owls stamp set with one being fussy cut & the other die cut with one of the All That dies. To complete the card I added some 2019-21 In Colour faceted dots.

So now for the final card.

This little cutey is possibly my favourite of the three. It's a Basic White card base with a Parakeet Party matte that is embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. A strip of DSP was placed on the right & some of the gorgeous Highland Heather sparkly Grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the matte before it was adhered. I diecut 2 DSP circles with the Stitched Shapes dies & layered them with my final owl. He was coloured with Daffodil Delight, Pineapple Punch, Balmy Blue & skin tones Blends.

I also used Fresh Freesia & Highland Heather blends to colour some cute Heart Pearls to match the colours in the DSP. The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set & was stamped in Highland Heather. The ends were punched with the Lovely Labels pick-a-punch.

That's it for another week. Thanks so much for stopping by. If you would like to order any of the supplies I used today you can head over to my Stampin' Up® shop using the links below. Please note that there are some supplies I used this week that are not available any more as they are retired stock. That doesn't mean you can't recreate your own version of these cards though! Just swap out the retired items for whatever you have in your stash.

I hope you have enjoyed my creations today & can join me again on Wednesday when I will be CASE'ing the catalogue with the lovely Sending Smiles stamp set & matching Sending dies. This also ties in with next Sunday's blog which will show you other creations I have made with the same set. I hope you can join me for both of them.

Don't forget that new mini catalogue went live on the 5th January & coincides with the release of the latest Sale-a-bration promotion. Both are full of gorgeous new products including a whopping 48 sheets of DSP in one of the free packs in the Sale-a-bration catalogue!

If you would like to purchase any of my creations that I feature in my blogs they can be found in my FaceBook shop at craftedbyalison or you can or order something unique.
