Hello, welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! ๐
First of all, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! ๐๐๐
To all those out there that are Mums, Grandmas or mother figures, I hope you have a wonderful day with those you love & get spoilt.
Now onto this week's blog.
Stampin' Up® has a number of ways to purchase their lovely products. You can look through their physical catalogue or browse through the Annual & mini catalogues online but there are also some products that are only available exclusively online that don't appear in any catalogues. These products are called the Online Exclusives & will not appear in any catalogues. The stamp set & dies I used in today's card are from the Online exclusives section & are called Rhino Ready. I have loved playing around with this set & I hope you love what I have to share today.
This stamp set is sooo cute & whimsical. There are 3 rhinos all doing different things as well as some sentiments, grass & small complimentary images. The dies cut out some of the stamped images as well as trees, leaves & scenery items. Here's how I made the cards.....

This card was inspired by Tina Wardell from Tina's Crafty Ink Spot. I used a matte of one of the new 2023-25 In Colours, Copper Clay & added a strip of Like an Animal DSP. I stamped the Rhino in Tuxedo Black Memento ink then used a Water Painter & Smokey Slate ink to colour him in. I added some white to his horn with a retired SU white marker & painted his toenails with a Flirty Flamingo blend before diecutting him. I also diecut some leaves in Garden Green, a circle with the Stitched Shapes dies & the sentiment tag with a banner die that comes in the Zany Zoo die pack. The sentiment is stamped in Copper Clay. I added the rhino with dimensionals to the circle & adhered that plus the sentiment directly to the card base. The embellishments are the new 2023-25 In Colour dots. There is a layer of DSP inside with a matte of Basic White for writing.

The second card is possibly my favourite? I love the combination of greens with the Calypso Coral in the DSP matte & the Rhino is so sweet. ๐ฅฐ It was inspired by a design I found on Pinterest by Terri Gaines.
The DSP is from Favored Flowers & the Granny Apple Green & Basic White mattes were diecut using the Layering Diorama dies. The grasses are stamped then diecut in Parakeet Party & coloured with the same blend colour. I chose 3 greens for the leaf bed - Granny Apple Green, Parakeet Party & Garden Green. There are some leaves adhered to the base which the rhino sits on & then some that are adhered over him. The rhino is coloured using a Light Gray Granite blend (it's the only grey I have at this point) & I went over some areas a second time to give the concept of shading. I again used Copper Clay for the sentiment, Flirty Flamingo for his toenails & the white marker for his horn. The final touch was to add some Brushed Metallic adhesive backed dots.
The final Rhino in this stamp set is probably the happiest of the three of them & is the one I featured in my
May 10 2023 Mid Week blog
That's it for this week's cards, I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations. Just remember that some of the products used are retired but if you don't have them then just swap them out for something you do have!
Next week's Mid Week blog is another fun fold inspired by Sam Calcott at Mixed Up Crafts. For next Sunday's blog I feature a gorgeous stamp set called Apple Harvest. I love apples, Royal Gala being the yummiest, so this project is sure to make me crave an apple or two while I'm making them!
I hope you can join me for both of them.
Each week I have been sharing one of the cards I created during the Online Stamping Retreat I attended in April.
Here is this week's share which is the same layout as last week's but uses different colours & DSP. I hope you like it!
