Hello, welcome to my blog,
My name is Alison & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. If this is your first time here, thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you. If you're a returning visitor, thank you so much for supporting me! 😍
This week's cards are created using the Share a Milkshake stamps & dies featured in the new Annual catalogue. It's a two-step stamp set which means you stamp the main part of an image & stamp over that with a detailed stamp. This can give your creations a much more 3D effect. It's quite a nostalgic bundle as many people think of childhoods at the beach, Mr Whippy or American diners. Ice creams are so cooling on a hot day & as we start our colder winter days in Melbourne these cards help me to remember that Summer & ice creams are something to look forward to! I hope you enjoy my creations.
As you can see I've created a sundae theme & a gelati themed card. Here's how I made them.
The sundae card starts with a Starry Sky card base with a Basic White matte then a matte using the Rings of Love DSP. The ice cream sundae was created by stamping the glass in Balmy Blue with the detail stamped in Starry Sky. The ice creams are stamped in Berry Burst & Bubble Bath then diecut. The chocolate topping is stamped in Early Espresso but is actually another layer of ice cream which I fussy cut, flipped over to appear as if it's dribbling down the ice cream then fussy cut off the excess. The spoon is inserted into the ice cream via a little slit made when you diecut the image. Clever huh? I used a scrap of shimmery cardstock to give it a little bling.
The next step was to mount it with some dimensionals on a Starry Sky matte & a Basic White matte which has the sentiment stamped in Berry Burst. The circles were cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.
To finish the card I added some 2023-35 In Colour dots.
My second card makes me hungry for some gelati! The die set comes with a die that cuts the waffle shape as well as a lattice die. I used Crumb Cake for both the lattice & the cones. I then sponged the cones with some Soft Suede ink to give some depth. I cut some lemon, lime & mango gelati 😁 out using Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist & Pale Papaya cardstock & piled them up just like in the gelareria. I used some Stampin' Write® markers to colour the cherry stamp then diecut it to place in one of the ice creams.
Now that the cones were finished, I attached the lattice to the back of them ready for the base.
I started with a Basic White base, added a Pumpkin Pie matte then a matte of Dandy Designs DSP. I then used a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock & embossed it with one of the 3D basics embossing folders & adhered it to the mattes. I wrapped some Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Ribbon Duo combo pack around the mattes before adhering them to the base.
The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake & fussy cut. I sponged a little Crumb Cake around the edges to make it pop. This was then mounted with dimensionals over the ribbon. There was a little scrap left after I trimmed the wrapped ribbon so I used it to tie a small knot bow.
The last step was to use some dimensionals to pop the cones up & the card was finished.
I really loved working with this set & I didn't even use all of the stamps & dies! There is still a milkshake card that is waiting to be made but that will be included in a future blog.

In the previous weeks blogs I posted the pics of some of the cards that were created during the Online Stamping Retreat I attended in April. Here is the next card, a Pop Up/Tuck In fun fold. This fun fold design was created by Lisa Curcio.
My next blog is on Wednesday where I will feature a fun technique called floating strips. It's a little different but very effective. Next week's Sunday blog is another one for the boys. I will be sharing some more cards created using the He's All That stamp set. I hope you can join me for both of those.
Well, that's it for another week. I hope you enjoyed this post & come back for more next week. Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison.
