More from the Storybook Moments Suite - CASE the catalogue

Hello & welcome to my blog,

My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia. For those of you who have previously visited my blog & are now returning, thank you. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome!

Here's a little bit about me. I love creating cards & gifts for my loved ones & this blog will show you how to create something special for those you love. I blog twice a week, once on a Sunday where I mainly showcase a stamp set or dies, embossing folders, projects & sometimes special DSP and Wednesday evenings when I highlight a technique, fun folds or tools & tips. I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or suggestions & my email address for that is craftedbyalison@gmail.com.

Stampin' Up® 's Annual Catalogue was released last year with a very different format & it's a beauty! It's set out quite differently to previous catalogues but there are benefits to that. They now have sectioned it to have beginners, which is a step by step collection of materials in kits, then there is quick & easy where you select base materials & packs of pre-printed or diecut materials plus some stamp sets then there is create your way where you choose all the materials, stamps etc yourself & create your way! In the quick & easy section Stampin' Up® have also provided some inspiration with a colour wheel & information of various ways to use colour combinations. I explored this in a bit more detail in my 1/1/25 mid week blog. The new mini catalogue was launched on January 7th with lots of lovely stamps, dies & papers to ooh & aah over. If you would like a copy of this new catalogue then please contact me at craftedbyalison@gmail.com. Stampin' Up® also have products available only online. These are called Online exclusives & have no end date, when the stock is sold out, that's the end of it.

Today I am sharing more of the delightful Storybook Moments Suite. It is such a gorgeous suite with garden critters, plants & frames. There is beautiful DSP full of the critters & produce plus, 2 sheets of pre-cut images to use on your projects plus there is a 6"x6" pack of checks & plaids to co-ordinate with it all. There are two stamp & die bundles in this suite - Storybook Friends & Storybook Garden Patch. In previous blogs I have shared a funfold made with the DSP & a selection of cards made with the DSP with a little bit of the stamps from Storybook Friends.

Here are two cards that I have CASE'd from the Mini catalogue which feature some of the images from Storybook Garden Patch. I hope you like them!

Let's start with the card on the right.

On a Basic White base I added a matte of Wild Wheat check DSP from the Timeless Plaid pack.
The ground for the veggie patch is Pecan Pie & was created with one of the dies that cuts out the shape of the dirt mounds but also adds some slits for your veggies to pop up out of! Very clever idea.
Before joining the two pieces together I heat embossed the sentiment in white directly onto the 'dirt'.
The carrots are diecut from Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral & Cajun Craze with a little bit of trimming to shape them and the tops are diecut from Wild Wheat, Old Olive & Mossy Meadow  & adhered with a tiny bit of glue.
The pots are Calypso Coral & Cajun Craze & the watering can is Boho Blue & Night of Navy. The final piece of diecutting is the little trowel which is Pebbled Path.
To assemble the card I adhered all of the two tone pieces to make separate images then placed the two pieces of the veggie patch earth, trimming parts that weren't quite right and being careful to apply glue only to areas where the carrots did not poke through. The carrots & trowel were poked through & kept in place with liquid glue, mini glue dots & dimensionals. Here's a closeup which shows the slits.

Next was adding the pots & watering can, again with mini glue dots & dimensionals plus a few Antique Pearls to finish it off. Viola!

The second card took a little longer to create as it involved colouring with blends. I didn't mind at all though as I find the process quite relaxing. I set out a large selection of colours on the table when I was crafting with friends & coloured each of the images in as we chatted.

This time I used Basic Beige for my base & added a plaid matte slightly smaller than the base. The images were stamped in Memento black onto Basic Beige & I made sure that there was room for the small sentiment to be heat embossed in Copper. On to the colouring! The colours used are:
Lemon lime Twist
Parakeet Party
Granny Apple Green
Real Red
Sweet Sorbet
Peach Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Pebbled Path
Smoky Slate &
SU500, 600, 700 & 900 in the skin tones.
The finished scene was adhered to the base then I splattered some SU100 across the whole of the card front for a 'dirty' effect. To create the splatter, simply place the brush end of your blend just inside the lid & flick it outwards. Easy, peasy.

That's it for this creative episode. I hope you enjoyed seeing these gorgeous, whimsical images. I'm so in love with this suite & I will be featuring some creations made with the Storybook Friends stamps & dies in future blogs but for now I'm taking a little break from this beautiful suite to share some fun creations from the Online Exclusive, Filled With Fun bundle.
